2nd Memory Book - for Grace

Oh I am so impressed with myself, I managed to do all my ironing this week before Sunday dinner time. I also got the whole house cleaned through to a reasonable standard.
Then took some time out to start creating another Memory Book, this one was requested by Lindsay for her older daughter Grace. She like the other one and felt it would be unfair for Grace not to have one also.
So I got the little book sometime ago, but did not really get time to start on it. I have now managed to create the front page with some lovely suede paper from the Hobby House and paperflowers from Hobby Craft. I then quickly moved on to the inner front cover and located some co ordinating K & Co papers and some left over pale olive green paper from one of the classes I attended at Running with Scissors. I placed some basic cream cardstock down and then the lovely pink roses paper over the top. Used the good old nesties to create the topper and stamped the images. I then added some flowers with spacers and brads and swirls out of the left overs and used my stash of little pearls to finish the look.
Although I think the front page is quite plain, I think any more would kill it.

Copic Colour Challenge 19

After forgetting to make Matt's pack up last night, got up early with him this morning (with the birds) and resolved the issue. Got the kitchen floor swept and mopped, hoovered through, got the washing and drying done along with folding the ironing for later and at 8am I headed over for my hair appointment. Arriving back at 10.45am. Plenty of time left to create the card to go with my already created Sarah Kay stamp.

I do not have this stamp Polly (~ARTfulwings~)
very kindly stamped a couple of images onto my manga paper.

The copic challenge required us to use BV00 (I don't have this one yet), G00 and RV02 (I don't have this one yet)

So after identifying similar colours I was able to get started. I used G00, V91, RV13, E51, RV34, YG11, BV02, BV31, YG67, Y08,E71, E77, RV10, E00, E21 and E02.

Sentiment from my new on line ebay purchase (dead impressed) "My Sentiments Exactly" really good on line shop. Papers from the K & Co range and flowers out of left overs. The Martha Steward doily punch and the cuttlebug assisted. Spacers, brads, chain etc from the Hobby House.

oh nearly forgot and here is the card inner - getting much better at this bit.

This card did not go together as easy as the last.

Quite femine I thought - anyway have a bbq to attend and supper to make, thanks for looking

A Little Thankyou

Today Sam posted through my door the little thank you, for all my blogging comments. It isn't very hard to find comments for her as her work is so incredibly unique. I asked if possible to receive the butterfly one and can I say that the photo just does not do this justice.

Thanks Sam, will place it near my craft corner for inspiration and will treasure it.

Last Two Weeks Pages From Running with Scissors

Today I informed Tracey at Running with Scissors that I would not be able to attend my Saturday Scrap Book class for a little while as time is just running away whilst Matt is working on his current contract. So I purchased my last remaining available copics and felt a little sad as I will miss the ladies and the fun we had distressing, ripping, gutting etc (won't miss the cutting out, though Tracey)

These two sets of pages are the last two weeks and today I finally managed to put the words on them. The bottom set again for my sister Jo and the top set for my mum and yes I think they do the photos proud (thanks Tracey - much more my style I think and loved the circles, will start playing now with more circles) Loved the way the papers were staggered as well.
Right I am off to tidy up my craft corner and then will cut the grass and weed the new bed and try get on top of all the things I have let slip for far too long.
thanks for looking

Father's Day Creations

These are the two father's day cards I created for my husband Matt. The one on the left from my son and the one on the right from Star (my loyal friend). Nothing really special on any of them just using papers them selves to create the overall look on the one on the right and some ready made embelishments on the left.

Copic Colour Challenge 18

After my lovely week off last week, this week has been a little busier on the catch up at work. However I did manage to create this lovely Sarah Kay inspired card for the Copic Colour Challenge.

The challenge required us to use three colours
R85 Rose Red, BG05 Holiday Blue (I don't have this one yet) and Y15 Cadmium Yellow.

I have used in this image,E21, Y00, B05, E35, Y11, B02, B32, E43, E57, Y15, B24, E71, E00, RV34, E02 and RV23.

I used some "sparkly sweet" - K & Co papers and some pink card edged with Tattered Rose distress ink (Tim Holtz). Flowers from the left overs with spacers and brads and a couple of flourishes and mini pearls.

Well I need to create yet another fishing inspired 40th Birthday Card so back soon and thanks for looking.

A Little Copics, Whiff of Joy and Cuttlebug Christmas

I purchased this lovely Whiff of Joy stamp from "The Hobby House". I spent the weekend in the sun on my hammock with my copics, manga pad and several stamped images. I got a lovely sun tan, really relaxed and managed to complete several variations in lovely different colours.

For the past week after my visit to Polly's ~ARTfulwings~

I have been creating father's day cards, and 40th Birthday cards for my husband Matt. I am unable to blog these as he is my most frequent visitor to my blog. I will post them later.

This lovely little card was totally focused around the stamp and the colours used. The background paper printed off to match from the "Crafters Companion = A Touch of Christmas CD" The writing from the same location. The cuttlebug swiss dots folder was used for the snow effect. The die and emboss folder for the large snowflake and the die for the small snowflakes. The little snow embelishment again from The Hobby House.

and I have several more lovely little ladies waiting for me to match the papers and create more xmas cards.

Sam a little pink glint in the icicles stickles only.

well off to play some more TFL

My Polly Class and Playing with Copics

As I mentioned in my earlier blog. Polly and I towards the end of the evening had a copics session. I had if you remember mentioned how the hair on my stamped images always looked not quite right and how Polly had showed me how to do this.

Well this is the image we did that night and as it is so Gor Juss, I had to use it.

Spent ages and trying out a new layout and finally came up with this. Slight issue is was I did not have the ribbon with a silver edge and had already used the silver on the flowers, but I don't think it is too obvious.

Thanks again Polly and TFL

My Polly Class and Challenge

Wow........................... what can I say, Polly your just the best. Spent the evening with Polly and her little piece of heaven (her craft room and collection) Polly had designed a card which is so beautiful and contained so many different techniques and all for me to learn from. She had selected a beautiful array of papers and set the challenge of us creating a similar but slightly altered version. I have to say I think I was a little cautious when she presented the distressing tool (a little lethal looking but a proper implement never the less) I soon got the hang of it and sort of varied from the design when I got carried away. Have used lace (get me) twice today but each time in a different way. Learnt how to use a cropodile, I have always looked at those luverly PINK (sam) tools with no idea of what to do with them. Thanks to Polly I got to play with it and used it in two completely different ways. Loved the finished look and Polly you give anyone confidence to try something new. If you want to see Polly's finished cards go check out ~ARTfulwings~

Copics
Well Polly and I are both converts to Copics Ciao. Polly you really do need a fab holder like mine! collecting in a tub soon gets full as you are finding out. I explained to Polly that when completing a stamped image I tended to spoil it with the hair. Polly showed me how to colour and shade a Gor Juss stamp. Polly has so much confidence with her colouring and surprisingly enough I am only a little way behind. From now on I will remember my tips from Polly and also do the hair first, that is a good plan I think.

Thanks again Polly and remember to check out her finished creations at ~ARTfulwings~

Sue's Card Class Creations

I went to my very first card making class today with Sue at Running With Scissors. I had no idea what I would be doing and did not know anyone who already attended. I felt very welcome and Sue made sure I was keeping up with the new techniques she was showing me. The papers used were really pretty, liked the use of the frame's and found these easier than what I normally try to do. Sue showed me how to use the pearls on the strip easier and introduced me to liquid pearls. I had never used chalks before and although you cannot see the effect from the photos it is a lovely soft addition to stamped images. I liked the wording I chose at it then excuses the few little mistakes I made. But I enjoyed the company and had fun. Thank you Sue for letting me join you.

Gor Juss - A Little Birdie Told Me

As most of you know, I am having a week off from work. Today Matt took me to The Hobby House and I purchased some new stamps and papers, a few cuttlebug bits and a few more dangly little critters.

This is one of my new stamps - I was introduced to the Gor juss stamps by Polly (ARTfulwings). This one is called " A little Birdie Told Me" and it is so adorable. Again I used some K & Co papers, flowers, pearls, some impressibilities and the little dragonfly all from The Hobby House.

I used the copics caio to match the colours on the stamped image.

Sorry Sam Pinkkkkkkkkkkk I know but the base paper was shouting out for me to use it.

more to follow and TFL

My Son Mike's 21st Birthday Card

Well I am sure that from reading my blog you have gathered that my son Mike is into his fishing. So for some time now I have been purchasing fishing related items, not knowing what I was going to do. I started this one with the image, using my copics collection on several of my stamped images until I got the colours and shading just right. I had to ensure that it was a boy's colour (sorry Sam no Pink) hence the blue, felt a matt blue was too flat and tried a pearlescent but this did not work either and finally settle on this horographic blue card and used it to edge all my toppers. I hand cut all the pieces as I did not wish to have any uniform shapes. The font is called frosty and comes from a cd rom that I recently picked up with over 4,000 fonts types on it. The fish (sorry Sue) are stick on's. Placed onto the horgraphic card and carefully cut out. The 21st numbers and large star were in a pack I picked up at hobby craft and the little stars are from a punch that I think I picked up at the Hobby House. Felt the cream backing card was a little bland but searched for ages for a backing paper which would go and just did not find one. So I used my inkadinkadoo flourish and blue Tim Holtz distress ink and stamped my own, with a tip from the water colour class which was to use the second press as it looked more subtle and yes I liked it.

Well off to locate a saying for the inside so will be back soon, TFL xx

Today's Scrap book Double Pager

Arrived a little late for the class, but this meant I could take my time and try to get no swearing in. Lovely colour combinations and especially liked the back of the yellow dotty paper - which was a lovely light marbled effect in various shades of lemon/yellow. For once picked photo's which went well with the colour scheme (of which gave everyone a few giggles - if looking closer yes I have on fake tan and yes very badly put on - this was the theme)
Made one small mistake - will let you locate it yourselves. Thanks Tracey for reminding me that I could use my copics for colouring in my letters (don't they go so well)
Also thank you Tracey for the copics boxes - Matt will be so impressed now that he does not need to create me a holder for my growing collection. Well Matt is still fishing - match should have finished but he has not called yet and Mike is revamping his bedroom (god help us)

My Brother Nick in Last Weeks Scrapbook Design

Isn't it funny, how sometimes you just feel right with something and other times you don't.

This was the pack from last weeks scrapbook class. I was unable to attend the class but went in to pick up my pack and worked on this at home over the last two nights. This one just feels much better than the last one. I am not sure if the last one felt not quite right as my photo's were smaller or if it is because it was the first vintagy one I had done. The comments on it were good, so maybe it is just my impression of something new.

Well have already viewed the colours for this weeks class and have located some photo's that I think will work with it. I am attending in the afternoon this week so I won't feel as I have to keep up and can relax a little more with it.

Well tomorrow is shopping night (no ladies not for crafty bits but the boring food stuff - such a pity) so will be back crafting on Saturday whilst "yes you guessed it - Matt is at a fishing match" wooohooooooo peace for me.

Hobby House Watercolour Practice Image

Well it would be a shame to waste all those practice pieces we did. So as we are currently unable to upload our finished creation from the day, I decided to create this lovely little number from one of my trials.

Recipe
My watercoloured image ( hand stamped for me by Bev) with Bev's guidance on the colours and this was my third attempt.
Several layers of green and black for topper
Ribbon edge punch and luverrrrrrrrrrrrly pink ribbon (just for Sam)
Flourishes by impressibilities using the cuttlebug
Roses (hobby craft)
Little pink pearls part of the stash received at the Hobby House session

Well think it looks ok when you put it with other bits (don't look too close at the image though)

cya later

Vintage Sort of Pages

Well I am not sure on these two pages and may still pull them to pieces at a later date. These are from a class a few weeks ago and I really did not get on with the layout or the colours. Hopefully I have altered enough for now but still not sure if I like them.
Love the photo's it is my mum and her sisters, my mum on her own as she passed away a long time ago now, and her sisters together as they are still very much alive. The one on the left is the younger sister and the one on the right the middle sister. Lovely old photos. Need to ask around the family for some more especially of the brother as when I re do this one would like to add all the siblings.
Well off to play.

Father and Faith Page for the Memory Book

This is the memory book page for Mike and Faith. I think that the paper itself said enough and I did not want to cover it up too much. I love the simplicity and the effect and hope it is not too girly for Mike.

Recipe
I used a 12 x 12 father page (Running with Scissors)
A cream rose (hobby craft)
Scrolls from the impressabilities range with the cuttlebug
Some pale green card stock
Father frame hand cut and Tim Holtz distressed

well now waiting for some more family photos to enable me to finish this book.
