Good morning to you all in the land of blog
The sun doesn't have his hat on, he is cheering us all up with his bright and hot rays, don't you just love it when he does that, yesterday I did five hours of ironing and still need to do a bit of dusting. Although a very wise crafter stated some time back that if you do not disturb the dust you won't need to get rid of it, so think I can put that one aside for a while :)
This is a card I created on Saturday when Matt was fishing, it was a commissioned card and I hope the purchaser and recipient like what I have created.
Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this post is photo heavy - you may wish to grab yourself a cuppa now :)
A little while back I noticed all these cards that had sort of tiny netting on them, and managed to find out that it was cheesecloth, so dutifully went on that fabulous site called e bay and ordered myself a pack for a couple of quid. Awesome stuff and tons in one pack - will keep me going for a few years I reckon. Although I think it was the very talented Kim not sure now, that actually found you could use bandages too, I have loads of these in the cupboard so could have saved myself a few pounds and used them instead. Hope you notice the stuff on my creation :)
So here it is (coffee at the ready)
This is a 5 x 5 inch square card although I think I though it was another layout and tried to fill every little inch with something. I have matched the inner panels too.
The base layer is some lovely pale pink textured card from the Hobby House, the little pink pearls are from here also. The feathers have been used instead of leaves. The cheesecloth has created a soft backdrop for the beautiful tiny lace and a ring of liquid pearls has been added to finish the frame of the image off. All dp has been distressed and edged with diamond stickles.
Here is a close up of the little white bow and the silver heart charm, these items are from a local department store.
This is a close up of the silver butterfly with his liquid pearl body, he is just snuggling under the edge of the cheese cloth. The charm was from the Doncaster Race Course Craft Show.
This is the presentation box made for the card, I have added some delicious flowers from Wild Orchid and Hobby Craft to the top right corner of the box and the 12 x 12 card used to create the box on my score board is a pearlescent white. You can see the feathers in blue to match his tie here, these are from Rui Tong (type it in google)
Here is an angled close up of the flowers, well two actually as realised you could not see the little spray, to show you two little silver bells snuggled in with the floral spray. I have used diamond stickles to enhance the flowers and a spray from the recent craft show that has lovely little glass tear drops on it.
Here is the spray, isn't it gorgeous.
Here is a close up of the image, I have used tumbled glass distress ink to create the clouds, my copics to create the wall and some more distress inks in the green tones to create the grass. The image as always coloured in copics, however if you look very closely you will see that her full dress has been fine glittered with the clear Atyou Spika glitter pen, the flowers have a pale pink Spika accent as does the green leaves on her bouquet, although it is so difficult to photograph the very fine sparkle it provides. The images have been masked to create the depth and to create the background.
Here is the inner back, not sure who made the sentiment sorry
and the inner front computer generated sentiment.
This is a close up of the tag but do notice the texture on the pink card, this is from the Hobby House as are those darling little pink pearls. The sentiment is My Sentiments Exactly and the little key charm from the local department store.
