Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the next fabulous challenge at the
The theme today is
Grab Yourself Some Tea as Anything Goes
we have two fabulous sponsors
Pizzazz Aplenty
$10Gift Pkg
Now I thought I would move a little back into my altered art mode, so I spent a good couple of days creating a tea chest, originally a blank hardboard chest, which I decided would nicely hold different flavour teas. You see my brother was drinking lots of these teas whilst going through his chemo, however think it may now be a little redundant as he is now able to drink all sorts :)
But do not forget to hop on over to the main challenge site to see the rest of the gorgeous eye candy to inspire you.
So here it is
Where to start with this one, well I used gesso to give it an all over coat, I then sanded this down. I then used a wet wipe and some pale green acrylic paint and smudged on some green. Followed with a few liberal coats of crackle glaze and another coat of sand acrylic paint. Once dry I then scuffed it up with a sanding block before giving it a nice dust down. Then the TH vintage photo distress ink and a make up sponge came out and I gave it a good distressing (you should see my fingers I do so love to get mucky). I then over stamped with a gorgeous delicate floral border, before adding some additional embellishments.
The image was stamped, coloured with copics, and then given several liberal coats of high gloss embossing powder, before being thrown in the freezer, now at this point I decided to take a snooze, I asked the husband for half an hour and he forgot me. Luckily for me it only added to the cracked glass effect on the image, that then was scuffed up a bit more with the TH ink
The image is called
CHAMOMILE TEA
available here
Now just a few close ups for you
the little draws
The little tea roses and the laced and pearl edged cracked glass image
Some of the pearls decorating the corners where the flowers are not, I also added these around the bottom.
I would like to thank all of my wonderful visitors who take the time to leave me such inspirational and kind comments, and this then allows me to hop on over and visit you in return.
I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges
Dream Valley Challenges - Earth Tones
Fashionable Stamping - Embossing (on the image to get the high gloss for the cracked glass effect)
