Acetate Tags for the Winter Wonderland Challenge

Good morning to you all out there in blog land,

and welcome to Donna, Helle and Firelasse51 who has decided to join this little section of blog land, lovely to have you on board, ooooh that sounded like we were off on a cruise or something or maybe I am thinking to posh and maybe it is just a holiday dingy :(
Today the excitement is that I am publishing this post and not Mr Blogger.

Yep today would be the last week day of my week off and doesn't the time fly by.  Yesterday was my son Michael's birthday, so his fiance Hannah took him out to York for the day, where they visited the Railway Museum and several other Points of Interest.  My husband Matt went fishing but for once left the home at a reasonable hour and I spent all day doing housework and cleaning and feel rather satisfied for it too.

So today you see I have nothing I need to do, so might end up in the "Beach Hut" crafting, of which I am so pleased I was not up there yesterday when the clap of thunder sounded out through the house as if it was something hitting the home and surrounding area, poor Star went totally mad barking in and outside of the house.  It did shock me a little too, as the sun was out and it was really really hot at that moment in time, so totally unexpected.

Anyway last week at Winter Wonderland the challenge was easel cards, and I visited some lovely creations along with my teamies but today also brings the next Winter Wonderland Challenge which is being set by the very talented Lynsey and she has chosen the theme of

TAG IT!!!! to create a Christmas Gift tag

and our sponsor this week is Teri and her Delicious Doodles, thanks Teri
Now at the beginning of the week I was practicing with Tags, they are not the norm for me so I needed the practice.  However I feel I refined the way I did the first one and actually made two for my inspirational piece.

So here are the Tags...................
Both again are created using acetate.  The square one uses the Nellie large square die, with the corded thread sewn carefully through the little apertures creating an outer frame for the image, I pulled out the thread to make a tassel at the bottom and left a loop at the top for the holder.  It has the white stazon snowflakes and the little bear coloured in using glitter for his hat and liquid applique for the fluffy edge.
Here is a close up of the blue one
and the image even closer
The pink one, uses the just-rite stamp set to create the wording in the circle and two different sizes of circle nesties to cut it out, this one I got central much better than my first attempt.  The acetate was cut out with the large scallop and again stamped with white stazon but this time I used a glue pen to draw in areas over the snowflakes and then added some white flecked glitter.  The image is lady Tilda as I had threaded some of the fluff chucker chenille string through the hole I matched it with the pinks and reds.  As always copics are the chosen and preferred media for colouring.
Here is a close up of Tilda
I really enjoyed creating these two lovely Tags, one for a boy and one for a girl :)

So as always my teamies and I at Winter Wonderland, love those combo's so here are the challenges I am entering today

Colour Create - A colour theme of Ivory/Blue and one, my one is brown

Papertake - Something old Something new Something Borrowed and Something Blue - the something new Blue for the blue Tag

Stampavie - Christmas in Summer - well doesn't Tilda look summery and she is on a Christmas Tag :)

Fab N Funky - Favorite colour - pink is my current favorite colour

Secret Crafter - It's a Mans World - a male tag

Totally Tilda - A Shaped Card, I hope you allow shaped Tags :)

2 Sisters - Stitching - as good as the stitching gets when I cannot make the bloom-in sewing machine move grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. and to think I use to make ball gowns you would think I could manage a cheap sewing machine bought just for cards wouldn't you.

Polka Doodles - Acetate or Velumn

Crafty Catz - Animals, the Male Teddy Bear

I think that is about it

so all that is left for me to say is

thank you for all your recent wonderful comments and to the hundreds of people who visited me yesterday on the WOYWW, I loved visiting you back, I had a fabulous day blog hopping made a change from work.

Have a great weekend

Kate xx

  6. Fab couple of tags Kate, great idea to use the acetate, they look cool with the snowflakes on the background.

When we got our clap of thunder yesterday it was hammering it down, so not such a shock to the system for me and Fraz, but yes, it was loud!!!!
