Birthday Wishes in Pink and Black

Good afternoon to you all again

wow the rain sure did come down heavy yesterday evening, it was pounding on the flat roof of my beach hut, but I did still manage to carry on to complete the first of many of my card requirements for the next few months.

Unexpectedly I now need to create a Congratulations on your Engagement card, as my son and his girlfriend informed me that he proposed, as they both proudly display their rings, gulp my he is growing up so quick these days.

Edited: Sorry forgot to say they are planning the Wedding for 2013, I suggested 2014 as the 13 did not really work for me :)

So this morning up with the birds again and finished this birthday card for a colleague at work.

I decided that with the number of cards I need to create that a sketch idea would be good to follow and I was also very lucky to find a colour scheme that I loved too.

The Sketch is from Totally Gorjuss and the colour scheme from a variety of challenges but in the main Fussy and Fancy - Pink and Black

Here is the sketch
I have chosen to make an easel card on a little larger scale than normal, using a rectangle.  I picked elements out of the sketch for the inner return.  Sentiments are MSE.

Here is the card
I used a black paper for the contrast, a pink designer paper on top, followed by the mono capsule range layered on the black too.  The image on a nestie scallop with a black circle for its base plate.  I coloured the edge of the image and used my new Fields of Sky stamp to edge the image.  The image is .............................. from House Mouse.  The little pink diamante around the scallops for some dazzle.  The basic grey rub ons up the pink card with the ribbon wrapped over also layered onto black paper.  The charm sitting pretty under the ribbon matched bow.  The lovely Wild Orchid cherry blossom I believe flowers with the branch punched leaves to finish.  The inner return has three buttons to hold the easel card open.

The front
 The Inner Return

and the box created to match using an old chocolate cardboard box and elements of the sketch with the matching papers.
I am entering this card into the following challenges

ABC Challenge - A is for August, as my garden is full of pretty flowers and these pink beauties reflect my August garden and the August Birthday it is for.

Sweet Stampin - Pretty in Pink

Craft Your Days Away - Your Favorite Thing - my favorite stamp with my favorite little mice on it aren't they just adorable.  This stamp I won from Lols a little while back.

Stamp Something - Photo Inspiration - Pink, Birthday etc - Fits just perfectly don't you think

Crafty Catz - Buttons and Bows

Simon Says Stamp - "Sing it Baby" , why it is Happy Birthday to .......................... of course

Paper Play - A recipe of 2 designer paper, 1 ribbon, 3 flowers and 1 charm.

Basic Grey - Pearls

Crafty Sentiments - Cardboard - the box for the card

Paper Sundaes - Metal - the charm on the card

OK that is me for this now, off to Alfords Garden Centre shopping,  followed by the weekly shop and hopefully some holiday cakes, yum yum......... :)

Thank you for your recent kind comments and for all of you out there in the land of blog that take the time to visit, it is love to have you over.

Hopefully the Engagement card will be done later and then that will be another one out the way
