Happy Birthday Step Dad

Good morning to you all

The first thing I need to do today is wish my beloved and very special Matt a Happy Birthday, as I type this without him knowing about it, he sits opposite me smiling away at the computer on his desk, but know he will check my post :)

So this card is the card I made at the request of my son for him

I normally struggle with masculine cards but loved making this one, hope he likes it

I treated myself to a new embossing folder and I also got some guilding wax, so I found this fabulous turquoise blue card and got to work.  You can just see the raised areas with the guilding wax on them.  I used black as the contrast.  I found my garden twine stuff and ran a layer across the card, placed some turquoise ribbon from my stash on top of this before adding the image plate and image.  I finished off with some black buttons and two black pins.

Here is the closeup of the image coloured in copics

I would like to take a moment to say hello to all my new followers and thank all of my visitors for their wonderful comments, which allows me to hop over and visit you in return.

Don't forget I still have candy on offer, the last few days, see the sidebar :)

Creative Blog Hop

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you had a lovely weekend.
I am here today with something a little different.  The gorgeous Pam from Pami's Crafty Creations asked me to join in with the Creative Bloggers Hop.

Its a continuous Hop every Monday with a host of different inspirational bloggers taking part each week .  Thank you Pam for asking me, it is an honour to be here!

I have known Pam for a long time, she was a regular entrant in the Winter Wonderland Challenge and then joined the Hobby House Design Team almost a year ago now and always produces such gorgeous pieces to inspire you all.

 So onto the questions.

1. What am I working on?
oh gosh!! I have so many things running around in my head at the moment, that I would love to create and for a few weeks I will be in play mode.  I am ahead with my DT work so lots of play time ahead and lots of new crafty stash to learn how to use.  I want to try some new things like my Card-io stamping.  But I suppose if I have to answer what I am actually working on now, I am just starting to create a 40th Wedding Anniversary Card and a Special Glass Etching piece for my favorite Aunt and Uncle.

2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
I think I am like so many other fabulous crafters who just enjoy creating.  I suppose I am quite diverse and do like to turn my hand to everything and anything.  I think I am known for my love of ribbons and use of Wild Rose Studio products overall.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I started crafting in 2009, wow that seems such a long time ago.  I think I started for something to do because my beloved Matt took up fishing.  The idea was that I could create the cards for the family occasions, however it did not take long I suppose for me to continue to venture in other crafty areas.  I suppose creativity is in my blood and if I was not doing what I am doing, I would be doing something else creative in it's space.
4. How does your writing/creative process work?
Blimey these questions do seem to get harder.  It really depends.  If I am creating to showcase a new product then this is normally the starting point, although if I am just in my creative flair moments, I form ideas in my head and then try recreate them in real life................sometimes this works and sometimes it does not quite, but then Matt is always helpful and so long as I explain to him what my vision was like, he can normally find a solution to any hiccups I have in the translation.

I now need to nominate fellow craters to carry on the Hop

I met Kelly through blog land too.............sounds like I live in blog land lol.  Kelly creates such beautiful pieces so soft and pretty with lots of glitter, simply stunning, you should take a look at her blog.

I met Cathy through blog land and she creates the most amazing and beautiful cards, she is currently on the DT for Craft Room Challenges

Well, that’s it from me, I have you have enjoyed my Creative Blog Hop and that you have enjoyed finding out a bit more about me!

Have a wonderful day

Love and Hugs

Leaving Card and whoop whoop !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning to you all

Starting today I am on my college holiday which means as you can guess play time :)  so many things I want to have a go at.  But before I can I have the carpenter coming to sort out my kitchen, which is much needed, but requires Matt and I to empty the kitchen.......................... I am sure we will be exceedingly quick!!

So my creation I am sharing with you today is a Leaving card for the lady that the etched mirror was for, we shall miss her but I am sure she will have some wonderful interesting years ahead of her.  So here is the card that everyone signed, so much so I had to extend the signing pages by adding to the rear of the card.

Now the lady is owl mad, so I was asked to add an owl on the front, I knew just the one to use.

The image is from

Crafty Ribbons

it is a pre coloured topper and you can find them here
there are several matching owl ribbons here
the ribbon I have used can be found here Gold and Cream Two Tone

The papers are K & Co, these along with all of the embellishments are from the Hobby House, the flowers are from Clickit4Crafts, Wild Orchid Crafts and the Hobby House
All of the links to the locations I purchase my crafty bits from can be found in my where I shop page, above.
The sentiment is computer generated to include the owl to match the card

I would like to take a moment to say hello to all my new followers and thank all of my visitors for their wonderful comments, which allows me to hop over and visit you in return.

Don't forget I still have candy on offer, see the sidebar :)

Using
A CAS card for me but still full of flowers :) and will fit in an envelope for posting.

Boxed Beauty Inspiration for Crafty Ribbons

Good morning to you all

Today is my chosen day to inspire you for

So I am hoping to inspire you to use up your old boxes, this piece originally started with an old MDF box that I was given, the side had broken off so I need to glue it back together, I do so love up-cycling

I just could not resist using those gorgeous Wedding Owl ribbons, although this was not created for a wedding, so just shows you how versatile the ribbons are

Wedding Owl Ribbon - With Love Bridal White

Wedding Owl Ribbon - BELIEVE Bridal White

I gave the MDF a coat of gesso, before adding some lovely papers I ordered from the Hobby House.  I then added some lace from Grimsby Crafts.  I added lots of pearl strings and a pearl flourish from the Hobby House, before adorning with that gorgeous ribbon.

I finished off with an assortment of flowers from Clickit4Crafts, Wild Orchid Crafts and ebay :) all in white and creams.

I would like to take a moment to say hello to all my new followers and thank all of my visitors for their wonderful comments, which allows me to hop over and visit you in return.

Don't forget I still have candy running in the side bar :)

Etched Mirror

Good evening to you all

and wow what a hot one it has been, those expected storms did not arrive however a huge swarm of queen ants did.  Had to keep the dog in, so she did not lay on them, whilst I was working away in my craft room.

I thought I would share with you a mirror that I etched for a lovely lady at work that is leaving as a special present from my boss and myself.

So here it is

I love how it turned out, but photographing was an issue, as I kept getting myself in the reflection.  So finally took this shot of it on my floor :) missing me out the shot..............

Just a quick reminder that I still have Wild Rose Studio Candy running in my side bar, for those of you that have not entered yet.

Birthday Gazebo with Crafty Ribbons DT

Good morning to you all

Today is the next Ribbon Challenge at the

The theme this time around is

Fairies and Ribbon

I decided to make a Gazebo that I had seen on the silhouette on line store.  I have found that if I print my images off at work, they are so much better.  So after sending the little fairies to work, and my work colleague saying how much her daughter would love them.  I explained what I was making with them.  I then asked her if she would like it when it was finished and she said yes and I understand it is going to sit on top of her daughters birthday cake.  So here is my creation but do check out the rest of the inspiration by the very talented design team.

The gazebo is cut from two 12 x 12 white pages from the Papermill.  I added some of those gorgeous pearl strings from the Hobby House all the way down each of the sections, before threading through the large gold ribbon and the smaller ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.  The fairy images are from Emerald Fairies.  I coloured them all up in my copics and then cut them all out ready for positioning.  The little butterflies were coloured in copics to match the images as was the sentiment on the top, which I airbrushed.  I added glitter to all of the butterflies around the sentiment and also on the wings of the images.  So pleased how it turned out and think it will look amazing on the cake.  All of the links to the locations I purchase my crafty bits from can be found in my where I shop page, above.

Here are some more photo's at different angles

It's Summer with the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

Hi all
 photo hmbannergeneral3.jpg
As you know I am a floater for the

so today I am floating by to let you know about the next theme

which is

Summertime

but before I move on I just wanted to say what a fabulous weekend I had, I got to meet up with a very old blogging buddy (not that she is old at all, I have known her years) but never met her, so I was thrilled to meet up with Marianne this weekend, and lovely to meet Deborah and Janet too.  So I suppose I ought to show you my new stash, as I cannot wait to start playing with it, such a shame I had to clear a couple of orders on Sunday otherwise, I would have played already :)
Photo: Had a fabulous day at Summer Crafting meeting loads of friends and blogging buddies. After re looking at my finds here is my new stash, cannot wait to play :)
Any guesses on what I will be heading for first, as I have a couple of new for me, items here?

Now I have had lots of time to play recently which I am really enjoying and this is some of my copic playing, I was inspired to play this time by one of the Hobby House Design Team members Pam, who had created a gorgeous card and coloured the sea, so I went off on a mission, after four attempts and lots of guidance from the Hubby, I finally think I got it, but lots more practicing to move forward too, I think.  As with all things practicing makes perfect.

So here is what I created but don't forget to hop on over and see what else those fabulous design team members and our guests have made to inspire you
I made a generic card
The base layer and contrast on this one is a lovely deep turquoise blue.  I have used some of those gorgeous "Icing on the Cake" papers from Wild Rose Studio and then my new MFT pierced die to cut out the image.  I added a few Stamposaurus sentiments and those little House Mouse footprints to finish

Here is that copic coloured close up

As always I would like to thank all of my wonderful visitors and followers for their inspiring comments, which encourage me and allow me to hop over in return to see their gorgeous work and welcome my new followers.

Just a quick reminder of the WRS candy on offer, it is in my sidebar :)
