Hi all
Thought I would pop on and share with you a card I made at the request of my wonderful husband Matt. We were invited to attend an engagement party for a work colleague. Matt asked me to make the card in very specific colours to represent the couples love of their football club - West Ham.
Making an engagement card is not difficult however being faced with these specific colours was on this occasion. Matt chose the coloured card to meet the club colours and then I just stopped dead in my tracks, not colours I would normally put together. Maybe I would put red and turquoise together but these seemed so much different.
Anyway after getting over the initial struggle, here is the card I made
An 8" card made from white card stock
The burgundy initial layer, followed by the pale blue and then the burgundy again. Topped with a white embossed piece before I started the focal point.
I used my Sue Wilson dies to create the focal point and the sentiment flag holder. Although you cannot see it the two squares are interlinked, by cutting one. I wove the ribbon through these and wrapped the ribbon around the layers. I added a big triple layer triple bow and a fancy rhinestone button, before adding the red roses, blue lilies and the foliage. I finished off with tonic drops in the corners, around the dies and the end of the flag.
I actually loved it when I had finished it and the party was great.
Hugs
Kate
