Merry and Bright and What have I been up to

Morning all

So sorry I missed last weeks regular

post, but I was a tad busy with something else, see the photo's below, anyway today I made a Christmas Card,

 I used
Dies -  Holly Flourish

I used a create and craft half scallop card blank

This was a really quick card to make, I used Sue Wilson's double pierced square dies to create the base layer the designer paper layer and the lifted frame. I used Sue Wilson's pierced flag for the sentiment.  I added the holly flourishes, some smaller Britannia holly flourishes and adorned the whole thing with glitter.  Finishing off with the florals and some tonic pearl drops for the berries.

and the what have I been up to well my hubby got made redundant and got paid up for 3 months garden leave along with his redundancy, so rather than waste the garden leave and the redundancy we started something that has been on our wish list for a very long time.

The base layout, ready to start

The lads with Matt putting the base design in

Adding three ton of gravel

Starting to put in the steps

Adding the decking boards

The roof and decking and steps all done

Just on the painting, adding the roof covering, just ordered the furniture and went out last night to get the lighting

The iron railings will be on before the end of the week

Will take some more photo's soon, preferably with us sat on it

So just a tad busy with work and trying to get this all done, on a plus note 2000 screws went in the decking of which a good 1000 I put in, I don't want to see another screw for quite a while I can tell you.

Anyway

I will be back again soon and thank you for taking the time to view my blog

hugs
Kate

Oooo gorgeous and what a brilliant project to do, with your hubby's garden leave - my other half could have had 3 months gardening leave, before he started his new job, but didn't take it and left the job early - i think it was so i wouldn't volunteer him to do lots of DIY jobs !!, Luv Sam x
