Triangles from every Angle with Our Vintage Affair

Good evening to you all in the land of blog.
An interesting Title don't you think, but what does it actually mean, well today sees the start of the next challenge at

with the fabulous theme of

"Triangle"
this might be a triangle card, or triangle box or anything with the shape of the triangle...

But before I move on I would like to thank the ladies at Clearly Inspired for selecting me as one of their top five winners

So back to Our Vintage Affair

We are sponsored this challenge by the fabulous "The Craft Barn"

So I decided to try something a colleague from another DT did, which I have to say I thought was stunning, so here is what I created.
I made a trio of triangle boxes.  I used some Pansy papers from the Dragon's Lair
and printed the templates found on the internet directly onto them, now I did make a slight mistake here and printed the template onto the coloured side, instead of the back of the papers, but the little dotted lines looked so good as faux stitching that I adapted my creation to suit.  I have added lots of flowers and a spray of varnish glitter.  Flowers are a mixture of Wild Orchid, Hobby House, Hobby Craft and a branch punch to finish. The ribbon is some pull through ribbon and just finished off the top point of the central box.

Do pop over and take a look at the other wonderful inspirational pieces by the rest of the Design Team.

I would like to say it is lovely to see some new faces joining us at Our Vintage Affair, and I hope lots more of you will hop over and follow along with us.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 300 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 300 follower candy you can do so here, thank you to Feline for now advertising my candy too.

Watch the Birdie with Our Vintage Affair Design Team New Challenge

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the new challenge at

Remember the first challenge of the month is always a layout challenge, but pop back on the 15th of the month for the card/altered item challenge

So the sketch for the August Layout is this stunning one, with the theme of Birds

Having been given some lovely papers by our Sponsor

I could not wait to get started, so here is what I created for my design team inspirational piece
The base papers are from Grimsby Crafts and then the top paper is one of the lovely papers from Niki, just perfect for the theme and my ideas.  I tore and distressed all around the edge of the papers Niki had provided using my little old baby wipes and Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" distress ink.  I tore down a little at the top right.  I stole from one of my vases the tops of some twirl twigs and tied these together with twine to frame the image.  The image is from the first wedding I attended and the photo was taken from behind the paid photographer, so you can see all those guests with their cameras and the bride and groom performing those horrid photo stunts.  I hung a Marianne die cut bird cage from the twig after coating the die cut in Tim Holtz old paper crackle paint. The little birds were purchased oh so long ago from Hobby Craft, I painted these in the crackle paint too.  The floral sweep on the bird cage well let me tell you these were some dolls house hanging baskets, which I cut to pieces and used, a perfect size.  I added a feather to the torn piece at the top, some nestie leaves and a couple of Marianne fern scrolls. The little flowers are from Rui Tong.  I added some stick on butterflies but coloured them with copics to turn them pink to match the lettering. I love how it turned out.

Here are some close ups
oh almost forgot added some tiny gold beads to the bottom of the bird cage.
The little bit of fluff the added feather
Oh almost forgot the little bird charm too, but here he is :)

Now don't forget to pop over and see what my wonderful team mates have created for your inspiration.

I would like to say hello to all of my new followers, hope you like what I work on and that you may pop and join in with us at Our Vintage Affair.

As always and very importantly thank you to you all for your wonderful comments, and thank you for taking the time to leave them, I appreciate all of them.

Our Vintage Affair Monthly Layout Challenge

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
This evening brings us to the next challenge at

As always the first challenge of the month running for two weeks is a layout challenge and this month we have another fabulous sketch to follow with the added requirement of needing to use at least one flower hand made by  yourself
Here is the sketch

but don't forget that handmade flower
So here is my design team inspirational piece for you today, but don't forget to hop over and see what other delicious creations have been made by my teamies
The beautiful papers are available at Grimsby Crafts, the image is cut out from one and the other I have used a MS round the page punch on.  I used the recent wedding photo's and decided to use my oval nestie on this one.  I have used lots of nestie punched leaves and lots of burgundy and white roses, some nestie tags, the MS heart punch, ribbon, pearls and stickles and a two fabulous charms that Loretta kindly sent to me. The scrolls are cut from the same paper as the bride and groom image as is the little bird top right.  The bottom of the cut out bride dress I have used the MS doily punch on and I have also used liquid pearls to decorate this and other areas.  now you are asking where is your hand made flowers, there are three of them on each of the MS hearts. I have also added some ribbon to the tags,
Here are the close ups

It's a Background Stamping Card Challenge at Our Vintage Affair

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
This evening sees not only the start to my week off from work, but also the beginning of the new Card challenge at

The theme for this challenge was chosen by our very talented Loreta who not only came up with the fantastic sketch to work to but also the theme.

We are sponsored this month by

and the prize is a £20 voucher to spend in their store!!  So onto our challenge!!  The theme this month is to use 2 stamps as the background and also to follow this sketch.
Here is what I created for my design team inspiration
I used a cappuccino pearlescent paper for the base layer and the contrast.  I used my orange and brown stazone and a wordy stamp and then a swirly stamp to create my own paper which I spritzed with a little gold very lightly.  I located this image on the internet and cut it into three and then layered each one and then placed in a row. All distressed to give it that vintage feel and the little tag and ribbon to finish it off along with the flowers.

I would like to say hello to my new followers and thank you to my wonderful visitors who have taken the time to leave me such inspirational comments, love them all :)

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

The theme this month for the layout is to use the sketch below and add 3 different types of laces.

This was another fabulous sketch to work with
