A Very Special Poorly Rupert with Stampin With The Dragon

Good evening to you all

today it is not me showing you my work, but me showing you something my son created for his fiancĂ©e.  You see she has had her tonsils out and he wanted to make her his own card.

The image used is "Poorly Rupert" and is available here in the Dragons Liar Designs on line shop.

So I let him in my craft room...................... he has used black as a compliment colour with some very old pinky purple flowery papers from my stash, the MS heart punch and an inner and outer MSE sentiment set.  I thought he did pretty well, although I did not let him near my copics and gave him the pencil colours instead, but he matched the colours to the papers :)

He will kill me for posting this but I am not going to tell him, he will be so busy with his face book he will not notice it

But I will enter it into a couple of challenges for him, you never know he might win, but if he does the winnings  will of course be stored in my craft room :)

Catch The Bug - Anything Goes
Little Claire's - Anything Goes
Fuzzy Wuzzy - Anything Goes
Sew Many Cards - Anything Goes

To The One I Love with the Winter Wonderland Design Team

Good morning to you all in the land of blog

Today is the new challenge at

Winter Wonderland

I am hosting the challenge this week so I chose the theme of

To The One I Love

This is the last week that you can enter a Christmas or Non Christmas creation into the challenge as next week sees us return to our true roots of a Christmas Creation Challenge

and we are sponsored this week by
This is my design team inspirational piece
The base and contrast colour is a pearlized gold and layered on top of this are those delish Papermania Silent Night Papers.  If you follow my blog regularly you will see that this is the same sketch I used on my grand Callibur card a few posts back, I thought it was a fabulous sketch and so had to use it on the smaller scale too, although the larger circle nestie is from the grand set.  The image is one of my favorite Magnolia's which I have coloured in Copics with a white gel pen for highlights.  The ribbon from stash, a left over and the nestie framed sentiment is a WOJ.  I have used liquid applique for the fluffy bits on the clothes.

I am entering this creation into the following challenges
Cards For Men - Valentine/Love
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Crazy Challenge - Lots of Love
Cupcake Craft - Seeing Red
OLLCB - For Someone Special
Stamps R Us - Love and Valentine
Woodware USA - Ribbon and or Bow
Allsorts -It must be love love love

Now Mr Blogger will be scheduling this for me and as I am travelling for the day, I am not sure what time I will be able to link up the challenges, but I will get there eventually I am sure.

I would like to say hello and welcome to my new followers and to say thank you as always to those kind visitors who do take the time to leave such wonderful comments.

Je ne sais quoi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon bloggers
As the weekend starts to wind down, I hope you enjoyed yours as much as I enjoyed mine.

Yesterday was my crafting day, clearing everything that I needed to get done for all my DT posts, later on yesterday and a little today I have been finishing another creation for display at Grimsby Crafts along with adding another layer of gesso to my little box.

Which reminds me Matt took me to the local department store today and I got some more delish bits for my future projects, popped into see a Polly (Artfulwings) and her partner on the way back, well could not wait to show her what was in my shopping bag.  Obviously there were lots of oooooh's and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh's and a bit of sharing before heading home oh and thank you Polly for picking that delish ribbon up for me, it is just perfect :)

Oh and that reminds me Our Vintage Affair has returned to us after it's break over the festive period, take a look at the changes here

So here is the creation for Grimsby Crafts, I had made one earlier in the black tones but as the finished project was for a special birthday card, I have now replicated it in the brown tones, using some of the delish new papers in at Grimsby Crafts.  The papers are Making Memories and Core Essentials on this occasion.  The card measures 21cm x 21 cm and the circles are die cuts from the grand nesties.
The marabou feathers are from the local department store, just under the feathers along the hair line are some really tiny diamante in a warm browny/gold (you might not be able to see them)  The edges have all been distressed and edged with platinum stickles.  The image is coloured with copics, a white gel pen to highlight and a clear glitter sakuro pen for her dress lattice work and shoulder straps.  The edges of the image plate have been distressed with Tim Holtz old paper and over stamped in the same.

Here is a close up of the image which is by Kanban and is one of two images in the set available at Grimsby Crafts.  There are also some lovely sentiments along with the images.  I think the image really says it with style don't you ?? I'd love a frock like this :)
I am entering this into the following challenges
Catch The Bug - Anything Goes
.C.R.A.F.T - In the roll of a die (my new grand nesties)
Anything Goes Challenge - Butterflies (on the dp)
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Girlie
OLLB - Three of a kind, three of the same type of papers all Making Memories

I would like to say hello to my new followers and also a thank you to those kind people who take the time to visit my blog and leave such wonderful comments, love them all

Hugs and enjoy your evening

The Winter Wonderland Design Team - Reach For The Stars

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees Marianne's team posting for Winter Wonderland, but I would be lost if I was not mentioning the challenge today in some way, over the past year it has become my Friday morning ritual.  So not entering the challenge myself, just promoting the challenge as usual

The challenge this week is hosted by Lynsey and the theme is

Reach For the Stars
(let's see some stars on your cards

and the sponsor is Craftbrulee

Now I don't know if you remember a few posts back the image of the little drumming teddy bear, well this is the other image from the Kanban set available from Grimsby Crafts.  This is the image that will be used in one of the classes currently being advertised at Grimsby Crafts

So here he is
The base layer is silver mirror card and the top papers are from an old stash of Dovecraft papers.  The MS punch has been used to enhance the chequered strip and the sentiment is one of several in the pack.  The images are a clear polymer and fabulous to use.
The image itself is coloured in copics with a white gel to highlight.  The edges have been distressed with Tim Holtz antique linen and over stamped with the smaller images in the pack a duo of notes and a sweet star that matches these papers really well. I used a clear glitter sakuro pen for his microphone.
A perfect set of images for a boys card. The pearls are from the Hobby House, however the new stock is arriving daily at Grimsby Crafts so cannot wait to visit for my next instalment of retail therapy.

Love Blog Award

Good early evening to you all in the land of blog, the other evening, I received a comment from a passing blogger Carole of Brum, who said she was hopping over to see my blog as she had seen I had won the award on Sylvie's blog.  On hopping over yep there I was, and how nice it was to receive the award, thank you Sylvie

I would also like to welcome Kevin one of my new followers who also hopped over from Sylvie's blog.

There are a couple of conditions for the award

You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged

Dear bloggers:

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light,

so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers.

This is the hard part passing it on as ALL you fellow crafting bloggers deserve this award but rules is rules, I am passing this onto 5 blogs that I have commented on as a DT for one of my teams and one of my DT teamies that doesn't have many followers and most definitely deserves to be seen more :), I felt they all deserved the award:

In no particular order

So if you get time please pop over and check out these lovely blogs!!

Happy Hopping

The Sheer Enjoyment of the Grand Callibur

Now I know what you were all thinking, or I think I do, or maybe I might not and maybe it is just me!!!!!
Anyway enough of all of that, posting has been that busy of late, with all the new releases and excitement, that this creation that I made about a week back, still has not had it's airing, which is such a shame as I thoroughly enjoyed making it.

The image is another Kanban set this time purchased from Grimsby Crafts, the papers are GCD Studio's "Paris Nights" and yes Mandy I was stroking them again, not too much, so fluff is still on them, but oh my I had to put the fluffy one through the grand callibur, sacrilege but it just had to be done. You see this is a very special birthday card so not the normal size either. But wow do these grand circles make the most of these delicious papers.

Here is the photo of the one with the idea of the size on it, the little nestie at the bottom is the largest normal circle nestie.  The other circles on the card are made with the grand nesties (think that about explains the size)
So if you love scrap booking it might be a must to have a grand callibur, I remember when I first started scrap booking and wanted a circle this size and had to use a plate to draw around :), oh and before I forget the grand nesties are in stock at Grimsby Crafts.

So moving on to the actual card, with out the nestie posing for you at the side
All the papers have been distressed and platinum stickles added for glitz.  All papers are layered onto black card.  The sentiments on the front are two out of four available within this Kanban image pack which are clear polymer and fabulous to use.  The image is edged with Tim Holtz antique linen and over stamped with the same and a swirl stamp.  The image itself is coloured with copics, the black dress is given a little more panache by a clear glitter sakuro pen lightly layered over the top of the copic grey's colouring.  The feathers oh my the feathers - I have some gorgeous feathers from the local department store, this one was white.  I cut off all the little fronds and individually glued them with a pin flair pen, once dry I then lifted for the effect before running the ribbon across the bottom.

I actually followed a sketch for this one but knew it would work so well but the sketch required flowers and was for last weeks challenge not this, but still feel that the credit for a fabulous sketch should be made
The sketch is
sketch - Page 016_2
Friday Sketchers, last weeks not this weeks

I am entering this extra large card into the following challenges
Crafty Sentiments - your favourite things - this one the fluffy papers :)
Do You Stack Up - patterned paper
Paper Play - Layer it up

Welcome to my new followers and thank you for all the lovely comments from my fabulously crafting visitors and thank you to Sylvie for the lovely award, I am currently looking who to give this too.

Rockin All Over The World......................................

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
This is a card I created last night for Lynn for display at Grimsby Crafts.  The papers and Kanban Image and sentiments are available now at Grimsby Crafts, along with a lovely selection of other papers and images, which I have really enjoyed using.  Cannot wait to show you more as the weeks go by.

I decided to use these images as I think it allows the user to practice the colouring and shading skills, I will be using the same papers and the other image in a class that I will be running at the end of February.

A little short on time this evening so here is the card I created
The card class will start off with basic skills and work up to more advanced processes.  The base papers on this are a deep blue A4 card, with these lovely papers contrasting so well.  The image is edged in Tim Holtz peeled paint distress ink and over stamped with the little music notes that also come with the image pack.
The image is coloured in copics with a little clear glitter sakuro for the symbols.  I used a white gel pen for highlights.  The pearls are also a deep blue and from the Hobby House, although Lynn is ordering delicious new stock every day.

Yesterday I treated myself to some new 12 x 12 papers and two Tim Holtz embossing folders, just cannot wait to play.

Here is a close up of the image
Just look at the concentration on his little face, ohhh bless !!!!! but a perfect little boys image

I am entering this creation into the following challenges
