Whiff of Joy, tearing and copics

Hi everyone

Don't you just love Wednesday's, when all the new challenges come in. Deciding which one or selection you can work with. I started today's with three in mind, but dropped this down to two as the over glitter element of the cuttlebug challenge did not fit with the design of card I was creating.

So today's creation meets the following challenges

Whiff of Joy Challenge #57 making a Christmas Card

Quixotic Challenge #4: Tearing

So I started out wanting to use my new cuttlebug frameability to meet another challenge of "Favourite" and combining this with the glitter element. So started with a base white card and layered with cream glitter card. Patiently used my ice stickles to create my frame and placed aside. Then selected my Whiff of Joy Stamp and then searched my papers for a lovely deep red paper. This is one from a basic grey pad from the Hobby House. (Lovely papers, it is so hard to pull them from the pad). Well then decided to do my tearing and well that is when the design changed. (Polly will be so proud of me) I tore all around the edge of the paper - what a sin. I then used Tim Holtz distress ink to give it the distressed look after wetting and curling my paper. I found some remnant of some music sheet and gave this a good old distress. I inked up the stamp and cut this out freehand, distressing as I went. Stamped the sentiment and did the same. I created this lovely little distressed flower from a punch and distressed that too, adding the pearl brad coloured with copics to match the image.

Not my normal style but revisiting some useful techniques.

Here is a close up of the flower

The image to show the copic versatility (not my best today I am afraid, but not feeling to good, sorry)

Oh and my best excitement of today - my Magnolia Ink magazine arrived. So without much of a todo........................ I am off to read it.

cya soon and take care of each other
