Tickled Pink Box meets The Sketchy Challenge

Good evening to you all in the land of blog

So excited the Christmas Tree goes up in a couple of days, whoop whoop, don't you love getting in the Christmas spirit :)

I recently made a lovely 8 x 8 card with some of the new gorgeous Tickled Pink Images, and then had to buy me some more lol xx

So needing a box to put this creation in I used the same papers and one of my new images to create this little number

I used the sketch from The Sketchy Challenge 

The view from the top

Now the base layer is a burgundy pearlescent with oh those papers that I have had ages, so sorry never remember what they were.  The image has been die cut out with the next to small circle grand, the shaping for the large circle is the largest of the grand dies.  Pearls from the Hobby House, flowers in the main from Wild Orchid and the sentiment is my own fair hand, I used a versa mark pen and then wet embossed with gold, not bad for my tacky hand writing.  Over sprayed with gold glitter lacquer and the distressing and over stamping with TH Antique Linen.  The ribbon around the sides was for wrapping Xmas presents from Lidl dead cheap a bargain and lots on the real.

House Mouse 1st Birthday Card

Good afternoon to you all in the land of blog

Whilst getting my evening fix of Come Dancing, X Factor and I'm a Celebrity last night, I multi tasked and coloured this cute little image.  Really enjoy taking the time to colour it is so relaxing.  This morning I created this little number for a little boys 1st Birthday Card.

I followed the sketch at Midnight Madness

and aimed for my favourite House Mouse Challenge too, so here is what I came up with 

An extended easel card, the base colour is a mustard yellow card and this is also the contrast colour.  I have used my smaller grand nestie circle and circle scallop, along with an MS punch and an original scallop nestie circle, with the plain circle cut out in the centre.  The remaining circle has been used on the return, I hate to waste don't you.  I have used Marianne dies for the floral flourishes and Wild Orchid flowers airbrushed this time in YG25.  The little pearls are from a win, they are non sticky pearls in two sizes from Pizzazz Aplenty, not these did take a little time to get use to working with but after about the third one, I had the hang of it. Bow from Hobby House and return sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly and little sentiment sorry cannot remember but I put the number one inside it.

Little Bottle Tutorial with Airbrushing of Flowers Tutorial

Hi all in the land of blog

As promised Matt dutifully aided me this morning whilst I created another Bottle Cover for a little bottle of wine, he took the photographs :)

Please note that this tutorial is Photo heavy and you may wish to grab yourself a coffee now :)

So here we go

Create a template following this example, if you cannot clearly see the numbers, click on the image to zoom in

Choose yourself a 12 x 12 sheet of designer paper and place your template onto this at the bottom, the top half you will use later on.

Draw around the template ensuring you can see the lines clearly, use a ruler to ensure that the internal lines are visible outside of the template. Scribble in all the areas that are outside the template area.

I used a straight cut blade and a score blade on my paper cutter

Using the straight cut remove the right end 

and the very top line, remember keep the large cut off piece for later

Use the score blade to run down the full length, following your lines

and also score down the middle of the template lines

Cut out the little triangles and remaining scribbled on pieces

Use one of the many hole punch tools available

and punch a hole in all of the top traingles

Here is how you should be looking at this point

You will now have your cut out piece and the spare from the 12 x 12 page like so

Use a circle die, I have used a Marianne fancy one, but use what ever you have, so long as the bottle sat on it would give you a small edge all the way around. Run this through your usual machine to cut and emboss it.

Now arm yourself with some good old fashioned clothes pegs and some good strong glue

Start to fold down all your score lines

Until all of the score lines have been folded

Use your super tacky glue to join the two ends together the small flap at the end needs glueing

Join them up and make sure you have a good seal

Place a peg on the top join and the bottom join whilst it dries

Here is where you should be at, whilst it is drying you can get on with other bits further down this list

Remove the pegs carefully

Fold all of the non holed triangles down

Add glue to each triangle

Place the top onto the bottom and then ensure that when you look inside there is an equal distance between all the little triangles and that on the outside there is equal space all the way around the base.

Place your little bottle, this is not a full size bottle, inside to hold it in place whilst it dries

Ensure that the glued seam is at the back, and then with the front two triangles towards you start to thread your ribbon through the holes around the bottom.  On the first thread you will go in from the outside and all of the others you will thread through from the back to the front, to ensure that you have two ends outside when you are ready to tie.

Just slowly work your way around

When you get to the end pull the ribbon tight like so

and tie your bow, then adjust it to make it look pretty

Take the ends of the ribbon and twist these

Then add a glue dot, I have used pinflair but you could use silicon glue, and place this at the bottom towards the back and trim off at the bottom, the flowers will hide the end.

Now create your tag, I have used a fancy nestie tag and one of my many sentiments, you can choose your own style of tag and your own sentiments.  (Photo taken on my white grand cutting sheet doesn't it get some use!!)

Then with some gold mirror card and some leaf dies and the same fancy tag die, create several leaves and the outer edge for the tag wording.

Place the wording on the tag, and add the tag to the bottle

Now it is time to decorate :) my favourite bit.

I have used lots of Wild Orchid flowers that are white, by the way the ribbon used here was a generous freebie in my last order, thank you Wild Orchid.  Now I only ever order white these days due to having my copic air brush system.

Let me show you

Notice the latex gloves very fetching but so worth it and the filthy sheet on the cutting matt, to protect it. This is one white flower and I am airbrushing it with R59

I still am amazed at how airbrushing works so well.

You can add as much or as little and as many colours as you want and you can even air brush with your atyou glitter pens

Please notice the now red fingers hence the fabulously stylish gloves

These and the leaves are glued in place all around the base of the bottle and a few smaller flowers near the tag, but wow you can decorate how you want, I often over spray with glitter lacquer but have not on this one as needed to stay in the room :)
