Snow Much Fun with the Winter Wonderland DT

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
and if you had forgotten, to day is the Royal Wedding Day

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a scrap class at Grimsby Crafts, my good friend Polly runs them and I don't often get a chance to attend, so took the opportunity this week.  I really enjoyed the class and will most definitely have to find some more time to do the same again.  I will post the creation soon, once I have added my photograph.

I have a fabulous day planned, I am watching the HD TV all day whilst ironing - you see I just have to multi-task and could not just waste a day watching TV.  Matt has gone fishing......................... and as we are still a little delicate, do not think we will be in the street drinking or partying, but if you have those sort of plans, I hope you have a great time.

Anyway back to the norm and today sees the next challenge at the

where Team Marianne are providing the inspiration and Marianne has chosen the them of

Snow Much Fun (such a fabulous choice)

I would normally not be part of the inspiration but Jane is not too good and has stepped out this challenge and I get to step in to fill the spot so to speak, but we all wish Jane a speedy recovery.

So this week we are sponsored by the awesome Janette from the Dragons Lair, Janette created us some fabulous images just for our theme, and if you know me then I just had to use all of them.  So here is my design team inspirational piece for this week
So this creation has a black and red contrast, with a white embossed snow (swiss dot) top layer.  Each image has been trimmed accordingly, a WOJ sentiment is on the tag along with a few red pearls. Simple but effective I thought.

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges
Art Impressions - Use an Animal on your card
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
ABC - T is for Trouble (think the snowball one says trouble)
ABC Christmas - I is for Icy cold
Crafty Creations - White Space
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - One for the boys
Happy Scrappin - Christmas

Enjoy your day what ever you have planned

Jiggy at the Beach another New Release from the Dragons Lair

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today I was hoping the sun would break through the clouds and push away the bitter cold breeze, so that I could sit in the sunshine and colour my images, that I prepared last night.......................well no sign of the sun, still cold and breezy but at least the floor is dry. Hope tomorrow is better for that all important day.

Today I get to introduce you to Jiggy at the Beach another new release from the Dragons Lair.  This is what I hoped for weather wise for today :)
Doesn't Jiggy look as if he is having fun?  The base layer of the card and contrast is a lovely warming coffee coloured pearlescent card, I have use Prima papers on top.  The image has been cut out with the smallest of the grand circles and the matching scallop image trim.  I have used an MS punch for the edges.  Just look at that sun!!!!!!!

I am entering this creation into the following challenge that is just perfect for our dear Jiggy
Karen's Doodles - At the Beach
Creative Card Crew - Child's Play
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
The Stamping Boutique - Things with Wings

So I am now going to take off the mini skirt, put on the jeans and sit and relax but unfortunately not in the sunshine :(

Just a Little Bite please

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
Although the wind was a little too nippy for my liking today, it was still a lovely day and even more so as I got to pop around to see Sue and browse through her large amount of surplus crafty bits.  Managed to find a few bits for future creations and had a catch up with Maz. On leaving popped to Grimsby Crafts to drop off another class creation for the future and Matt then purchased me my Easter Egg (nope not chocolate, but another round the page punch), so had a coffee with Lynn and then headed home.

Now I had spent a couple of days colouring images in the sunshine, but found this extremely difficult to then match the papers to the colours I had used.  I am so use to working the other way around.  So spent this evening, placing the images already created onto cards, and also then created four more cards, with the images not coloured - so that I can sit in the sunshine tomorrow (fingers crossed) and be able to colour the image to match the papers on the card itself, so much more my style.

So here is one of the little guys that I coloured up in the sunshine.

He is a LOTV image, and such a natural looking fisherman.  I used a base green card and contrasting colour and some very old male papers from my stash, not really neglected, they just come out every time I need to do some of the male cards for the household.  I have used a MS edge punch and my nestie ovals and oval scallops.  I have added one of my little fish charms to this card.

Here is a close up of the little chappie concentrating for that very special fish

I would like to say thank you to those of my visitors who left me such lovely comments and get well wishes recently, much appreciated and we are all now feeling much better.  Whilst on this subject, get well wishes to Jane too.

I would like to enter this little creation into the following challenges
InStyle Stamps - Colour Challenge
Tuesday Throwdown - Brads or eyelets

A Travelling Little Critter

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
by have I had a bad couple of days, and not only myself, but my husband, son and the dog too.  Some sort of horrid stomach bug, just coming out of the other side of it now, but still feeling oh so weak.  Hope everyone else is all right and I apologise for the lack of commenting during the problem period.

Whilst struggling with the cramps I did manage to see that there was a new challenge on at the House Mouse Challenge, and decided to see if I had a stamp that would fit the bill, so to speak.  I looked at all of my new little critters and eventually found one that to me said travel.
The base card is a lovely pale pink and the accompanying papers are some new ones I got recently from Jill at the Hobby House, sorry unable to run up the stairs to the Beach Hut for the name of the pack, so sorry.
I have used a Marianne Creatable Die to frame the image which has been die cut from the smaller of the grand circles.  The sentiments are from MSE the sister one was in my last combination pack, which I have dutifully logged into my system within the wage packets.  The ribbon from stash and the pearls from my top up at Hobby House.  The MS heart punch has been used also.  The image is coloured with copics

I would like to say thank you to all my lovely visitors and especially those that take the time to leave such wonderful comments, they really cheer you up when you are not so well.

I would like to enter this little number into the following challenges
House Mouse and Friends - Way to Go (Travel)

Enjoy your evening all

Kenny K New Stash

Good morning to you all
I have spent the last few days, colouring in the sunshine, it is so relaxing and I get a bit of colour on my lily white legs also.

Yesterday I coloured up this little lady, so this morning I put her on a layout.  Normally I make the card first and then colour but sort of swapping around to make the most of the sunshine.
The base layer is a lovely pearlescent lime textured card from the Hobby House and the image is also from my new stash from the Hobby House.  The papers yep those were new stash too, from the Hobby House......................as were the pearls, but they were just top up honest.    The sentiment is an MSE one and the flowers on this occasion are from Wild Orchid.

Here is a close up of the copic coloured image
I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges, before I rush into the sunshine again
Make it Colourful - Black Hair
The Crafty Pad - Circles
Paper Sundaes - Sparkle, Pearls and Die Cuts

All Square with Crafty Individuals

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Sometime ago now I stamped up some Crafty Individual stamps, I aged them and then was at a loss to what to actually do with them and then the opportunity arose, so dusted off and glass cracked here is what I actually eventually have done with them.  This is not my normal sort of creation and I am not sure I am in the groove with this card, but I do now and again like to try something new.
The base layer and contrast is a mocha pearlescent paper, with cream pearlescent paper on top that has been embossed with little roses, the frames are embossed with Tim Holtz bark effect embossing folder and the little Crafty Individual images have been stamped, distressed and the shattered glass effect on top of that.

I am going to try entering this into the following challenges
Dutch Dare - Cracked Glass
Simon Says Stamp - Emboss it

Hope you are enjoying your extended weekend

Have a Mice Day

Hi all
You know I was looking back to when I started my little area of blog land, and realised that my posts used to be so much more interesting than just a card, and how it was made and where to get the bits from. So I made a mental note (no funny jokes now!!) to try to write much more interesting posts.  I wish I was as good at writing posts as Carmelina such a talented writer, holding your interest in each and every post.

My own dearest husband has a blog (not that he uses it) but his first few posts were really funny, humorous and so made you want to read them. It is a shame he did not continue with it.

Yesterday I had a class to run at Grimsby Crafts, so 12.15pm came and I kissed the hubby and told him to enjoy his afternoon, jumped in the car with my tools for the day and watched as he very kindly opened the gates for me :)  only to have him close them a few minutes later...........................

You see my little car did not want to start in fact the sound it made was rather pathetic to say the least.  But I did that smile sweetly bit and locked the car and jumped in his - what a girl will do to be chauffeured these days :)  I wish I could own up and say that I had took off the distributor cap (and yes for those wondering, I do know what one is and where it is and could take it off) but that is totally not like me honest "smiling sweetly"

So off we went and I called my friendly mechanic, who very kindly (yes on a Sunday) popped around to see what the issue was and resolved it all whilst I was doing my class.  He is such a darl and then not only was that good service he phoned me this morning to see if it had started for me for my trip to York (yes I said I am here) so I have now booked in my service for next week.  Cannot have my car feeling poorly :)

Anyway moving on before you all fall to sleep, I just had to show you a photo from the class.  Now the reason for showing this is that it has been confirmed in the class that the Grand Calibur is the perfect piece of equipment for trimming up our waists, I must learn to use mine left handed as well as from the right so to even out my toning and the conclusion of this came from watching this impressive lady go :)
Of course if you want to see it for yourself you would have to book in on one of the classes

On that note, here is another card created for the next class at Grimsby Crafts
This will be me after eating all the Easter Treats this weekend :)

This is another twisted easel card. The base and contrast colour is peach card stock, and the papers are Graphic 45.  I have used the MS double heart punch and the smaller of the grand nesties for the image and one of my small nestie circles and the lotus pendant shapeability for the inner return. The ribbon is from stash and coloured with copics as are the pearls.  The flowers are new in at Grimsby Crafts and come ready glittered up. I have used the Forest Moss distress ink and a corner punch from a Prima pack of clear stamps. All products available at Grimsby Crafts.

I think that about does it for now, besides I have a large piece of chocolate cake at the side of me that says "eat me" so I just have to obey it. (you would I know it)

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges
Cupcake Craft - Lots of Layers
Karen's Doodles - Lots of Layers
Stamp with Fun - Birthday
There is magic in the air - colour challenge
2 Sisters challenge - Bingo (diagonal punches and die cuts, glitter and glimmer and flowers)

I would also like to say hello to all my new followers and for those of you that joined me through the OVA Candy good luck in the draws.  Thank you to you all for the lovely comments, I appreciate everyone of them.

Enjoy the rest of the week

The gorgeous pale blue distressing is tumbled glass by Tim Holtz available at Grimsby Crafts.  I have coloured the ribbon to match the card with my copics and the image is coloured in copics also. ABOUT KENNY K DOWNLOAD:

The man ....

I wielded a mean crayon in my early days growing up in the Bronx, but made the quantum leap to the Mac at my first art studio job in 1990, and have been working as a digital artist ever since. My previous work experience includes seven years in consumer and pharmaceutical ad agencies as a photo retoucher and Mac production artist, a season at MTV Animation, and many, many freelance illustration and Flash animation jobs. These days when I'm not beating the hell out of my bass with the rest of the hooligans in my bands Almost Famous and Air Dogs, I'm hard at work here at my home art studio in Pearl River, NY.

In addition to the digi stamps and forthcoming downloadable content available here at KennyKdownloads.com, much of my other existing work is available for personal and commercial licensing; check out the Licensing section at KennyK.com for more info on my existing properties - and feel free to browse the rest of the site, where tons of my illustration and animation work are on display! PSPers, taggers and digital graphics hobbyists, please see CILM's website for Terms Of Use (TOU) and info on available Kenny K tubes and tube packages.

My name is Elena (a.k.a "Elena K" or "Lady K") and I am the feminine touch of KennyKdownloads.com. I have been producing events and party planning for over 6 years in NYC and am a crafter at heart - I love anything creative, both handmade and digitally produced. I even ventured into business for myself starting a homemade basket company back in 2000; I eventually realized it was the creation that I loved, not the business side. My next leap of faith was to put my natural creative talents to use in the corporate world. Nothing like planning big events in New York on a big budget! Loving it ever since.

Kenny and I have been looking forward to collaborating on a project together since we got married, and we are finally moving on it now with KennyKdownloads.com! While Kenny continually cranks away producing his amazing art, I'll be here on the site to keep things running smoothly, as Kenny pops in when time allows.

Elena and Kenny K

So here is my DT inspirational piece with the digi very kindly supplied by Kenny K
