No Bake Recipes with the Secret Crafter Design Team

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the new challenge at the

The theme this week set by our very talented Jane and she has chosen

A Recipe
consisting of 1 image, 2 papers, 3 flowers, 4 brads and 5 gems/pearls

now you would think that as I tend to fill most of the white areas of my cards with anything and everything, that this one would be easy for me, you would be wrong.........................stopping myself adding to many papers, flowers, etc is the hard bit...............but then I do love a challenge, so here is what I created for this weeks inspirational piece
This is another 12" x 10" card, which has been punched around the page.  The base layer and contrast is that lovely coffee pearlescent paper.  On top of this are some delicious vintage Prima papers, just the two as required.  The one image is a vintage image located on the wonderful web.  Three little distressed white roses from Wild Orchid with a couple Marianne die cut fronds to compliment them. Four gold brads at the corner of each image and Five pearls, one on the sentiment, and two on each of the tag scrolls.  All edges have been distressed as has the doily and the sentiment, which is of course from My Sentiments Exactly.  Distress Ink Used, is Tim Holtz antique linen.

Now please do pop over and see my teamies fabulous creations, and on that note, do also pop and introduce yourselves to two of our new design team members, Linda and Janet, don't forget we are still looking for four more members, so if you have not already pop over to the challenge site and link up.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

Totally awesome, you guys are amazing................thank you so much :) 522 followers, if you are already follow me please don't forget to put your name in the hat :) as not many have entered so far, and would not want you to miss out.  Just for those who have noticed, yes I am now preparing for my 500 candy too :) thought about a Xmas themed candy, but do feel free to leave me your suggestions.

As always and very importantly I would like to say thank you to all my wonderful visitors who take the time to leave such inspirational comments on my blog, allowing me to hop back over to see your own beautiful work. THANK YOU!!

I am entering this creation into the following challenges, which the fabulous Feline, provides so wonderfully for us, and if you have not noticed they are in full swing with their thank you blog hop, so don't forget to hop on over and join in the fun

Across the Miles with the Winter Wonderland DT and a blog award

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the fabulous new challenge for the

with the theme this week of

Across The Miles

A very special theme for me, as I get to think again about my sister in Zanzibar, which I believe is just off Tanzania, and of her visit to me recently.  Whilst she was with us she mentioned a shop near to where she lives that she thought that I may be able to sell my creations to.  So I tried to create this with that in mind, but also for her for Xmas. Hope this is what she had in mind.....

I have used Mark's Finest Papers, Speedy the cat images, which I was lucky enough to win, one of which was just perfect for this creation
The base layer and contrast is a black pearlescent card, with papers found from various free sites on the world wide web, so sorry did not actually remember to record where I found them, and now cannot find them, but if you see them they are fabulous and a great freebie.  The ribbon is from my stash and the pearls are from the Hobby House.  I have used a grand oval and scallop and a holly MS punch. The sentiment is from a set of six from Wild Rose, this is a fabulous set if you can get your hands on it.  The image plate has been airbrushed with Y15 and the image coloured with copics.  A little clear glitter sakuro has also been used.   The sentiments on the image plate came along with the Speedy the Cat image set.  Just perfect :)

please don't forget to pop over and see my wonderful teamies creations, as these will further inspire you.

I would like to say I was Thrilled!!! to see my submission to Sweet Pea Stamps was shown on Saturday, if you would like to take a peek it is here and then the fabulous Kellie left me this lovely blog award on her post the other morning, thank you hun :)
as always these lovely awards come with a lot of thinking,

Here are 12 questions that I need to answer:

Q1) Name your favourite color? currently burgundy
Q2) Name your favorite song? Angel's - Robbie Williams
Q3) Name your favorite dessert?  cheesecake ( I make alcoholic ones)
Q4) What annoys you at the moment? jobs worth people
Q5) Your favorite pet? my one and only Star - my puppy, oh okay she is now 8 years old but still my baby
Q6) Black or White? Black, I seem to live in it at work all the time
Q7) Your biggest fear? Losing someone close to me
Q8) Best Feature? my fabulous selection of scars
Q9) Everyday attitude? 150% positive - I try to always have a smile on my face - what ever is thrown at me.
Q10) What is perfection? What I strive for everything to be in everything I do - tall order sometimes :)
Q11) Guilty Pleasure? Galaxy
Q12) When you’re upset you? Deal with it
I am now suppose to pass this on to 10 other people but I always struggle with this bit, so the first 10 people to comment on today's post, please take with my love :)

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
On Sunday I had the pleasure to hold a class for some fabulous ladies at Grimsby Crafts.

Here is the card that I created for the class
A monochromatic twisted easel card, with sparkle, shimmer and puff.
The base layer and contrast colour is mirror card, the papers here are by Dovecraft but in the class we used the Papermania Mono collection papers.  All layers have been distressed and then glittered, oh a girl can never have to much sparkle.  The front sentiment is from a set of 6 Wild Rose little circles and the inner sentiment is Personal Impressions set of 3.  The flowers from Wild Orchid and a holly corner punch has been used along with the snowflake edge punch.

As always some close ups
the flowers on the easel itself
The flowers on the return
and the copic coloured image.  The snow is diamond dust available from the Hobby House, the image is Nellie Snellen available from Grimsby Crafts.  The fluffy around the hats is liquid appliqué, sprinkled with glimmer mist. Copic colours used are the full suite of cool greys and and the full set of warm greys

Copic Airbrushing CAS for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today see's the next challenge at the

with the very talented Helen, choosing the theme of

"One Layer Card"

oh boy I just knew I would struggle with this one, as if you follow me regularly you will have noticed that clean and simple and me just do  not go together, but we try to meet in the middle.  So as I have been trying out my "sunset" airbrushing, I thought that I would put this to use on this little number, see what you think?
I as required use one piece of card and made a 5" square.  I took the smaller of the grand nestie circles and using a scrap piece of paper cut out an aperture.  I then placed this apertured sheet over my blank white card, and secured it to the cutting matt.  I then selected my airbrush colours and tried them out on rough paper, before the wafting them slowly over the aperture, blending slowly down to the very lightest colour.  Before removing the "mask" I then took one of my silhouette clear stamps and some black stazone and stamped an image over the aperture.  After removing the "mask" I then stamped the My Sentiments Exactly sentiment to the bottom right.  Voilà :)

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

Totally awesome, you guys are amazing................thank you so much :) 504 followers, if you are already follow me please don't forget to put your name in the hat :) as not many have entered so far, and would not want you to miss out.  Just for those who have noticed, yes I am now preparing for my 500 candy too :)

Ebony with Pearls for the Emerald Faerie Garden Design Team

Good morning to you all in the land of Blog
I am so hoping that this is posted in a timely fashion, being my first ever posting for the Emerald Faerie Garden Design Team, I would absolutely hate to get it wrong :)

When I got asked to join the Emerald Faerie Garden Design Team, I was screaming around the house, I adore the images and I am sure you see why as you follow my creations in the future for them.

So the new challenge is on at the

The theme is

Pearls

Now whilst considering what to create for this theme I had a friend at work that really needed to know that I was their supporting her through the loss of her mum, it is hard to understand that some people have already been in that situation and do totally understand what it is like.  As I lost my mum at the end of my teens, I therefore have total empathy for her.  After seeing her struggling and worrying, I just had to create something for her that would show her that I understood

So here is what I created for her
This is a box card, that contains tea light candles.  The candles for lighting the way.  The image is just perfect to express the computer generated sentiments, the image was created from two images of Ebony one flipped, so  facing each other.  This is me hanging in their too with her.
An MS POTP has been used to frame the whole creation.  The papers are Papermania Capsule Mono collection.  Black pearlescent card is the contrast colour.  The pearls are Prima and airbrushed in Y17.  The edges of the punched edge and the image and sentiment plates have been distressed and over stamped with Tim Holtz Mustard seed distress ink.  Flowers in the main from Wild Orchid however some are from a local department store, the lace is from my stash. Cheesecloth has been used under the layering.  A gold butterfly charm has been added at the top and liquid pearl detailing has been added around the edge of the detailed edge. A branch punch has been used for the foliage.
This is the box card opened up, the hand made tea light box has been surrounded by a gorgeous rose embossed yellow ribbon.  The sentiment is My Sentiments exactly.

here is the close up of the inner flowers and the air brushed pearls
and finally the image, don't you just love Photoshop and what it can do? The image has been coloured with copics with a clear glitter sakuro pen on the wings.
I have to say, she said,  "it was a valued keepsake, but could not open it as did not wish to get upset", she took it home to view it in private.  I now need to remember to take her some spare tea lights, as she will not open it as she would like to treasure it :) I am so pleased and know that the time it took to create it was worth every moment :) and that this little piece will help her through her tough times :)

Now don't forget to pop over and check out Team B's fabulous creations, to inspire you further

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

As always and very importantly I would like to say thank you to all my wonderful visitors who take the time to leave such inspirational comments on my blog, allowing me to hop back over to see your own beautiful work. THANK YOU!!

I just have to say thank you to the design team at Crafty Card-makers, for choosing me as one of their top five, here is my original submission

Xmas feels like just around the corner

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
I previously mentioned that over the weekend, I got to do some serious crafting, and here is another of my little creations that I made on Sunday.

This is sort of similar to a card that we will be making in my local card class - Grimsby Crafts, so if you are in the local area and want to join us - click here and give Lynn a call, copic colouring techniques are also part of the class, hope you decide to join us

The base layers is a silver mirror card, with some gorgeous Me to You 6 x 6 papers called Glitter paper pack Winter Wonderland.  I have selected three papers from this stack all using the aqua theme, from Grimsby Crafts.  The image is by Nellie Snellen, called Christmas Time Stamp - child also available at Grimsby Crafts.  The little tag is from the paper stack too, I added a Whiff of Joy sentiment to this. The feather, ribbon and lace thread through ribbon are from my stash.  The aqua bling diamanté are from Grimsby Crafts, the smaller ones have been added to the centre of each of the silver mirror card, punched snowflake. The lace thread through has been gathered across the return with some aqua slim ribbon.  I used a MS snowflake edge punch under this. The charm is from the Hobby House.
The image plate and sentiment plates have been initially air bushed with BG15, then dipped in glue on all edges and a very fine non static clear glitter added, which picks up the under aqua colour. The sentiment on the return are also available at Grimsby Crafts.
The flowers are all Wild Orchid which again have been air brushed with BG15. Hope you can see the little snowflake charm hiding.
and finally the image, polar white flower soft adorns the floor, stickles Icicles floats from the sky, liquid appliqué is the fluff around her face and the image of course coloured with copics.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

I still cannot believe I am at 494 followers, you guys are all amazing thank you,  if you are already follow me please don't forget to put your name in the hat :) as not many have entered so far, and would not want you to miss out

As always and very importantly I would like to say thank you to all my wonderful visitors who take the time to leave such inspirational comments on my blog, allowing me to hop back over to see your own beautiful work. THANK YOU!!

Happy Birthday to You

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
Today I get to show you something that I have whipped up tonight, an brilliant way to wind down after a stressful day at work :)

Whilst catching up with my commenting I spotted a couple of challenges and a hop I just had to play along with.

The first one was the House Mouse and Friends challenge and Birthday celebration hop, now if you know me well you will know how much I adore these gorgeous little critters :), and the second was inspired by the very talented Kevin and his interpretation of the Sketch and Stash Sketch
So after tea I knew exactly what I wanted to do, so here is a girls birthday card, with those oh so pretty Wild Orchid flowers.
The base layer and contrast is a black pearlescent card, the papers are Papermania from the mono collection, the ribbon and hand created double bow is from the Hobby House as are the pearls.  The flowers from Wild Orchid and the lace and ribbon down the centre are from a local department store. I used Marianne Creatables for the foliage.
The outer edge of the image plate, front sentiment and inner sentiment have all been air brushed with V15 and then the edges have all been glittered with a fine clear glitter, this then picks up the colour of the spraying.  The image is also coloured in with copics.
The flowers were all originally white, and again have been airbrushed with the V15 and stickles diamond added for that extra twinkle.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

I still cannot believe I am at 493 followers, you guys are all amazing thank you,  if you are already follow me please don't forget to put your name in the hat :)

Little Baby Blue Ashee

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
I did exactly as I planned this weekend, got the house work out the way before lunch and spent the afternoons playing, and believe it or not got three cards done :) two of which were for sheer me play time.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend too, going to have to be quick with this post as the X Factor is on shortly, and like to see if I can select the winner from the beginning................ did last year so will see for this year.

So here is one of my little creations from this weekend.  My very good friend April is having her baby is 3 weeks, so thought I ought to produce something a little special for her.  Now I just had to use one of the new images from the Emerald Faerie Garden, this one is called Ashee, he is oh so cute.

I made her a twisted Easel card, and could not help myself adding my usual array of embellishments, I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday
The base colour is a deep chocolate brown, and I matched this with those gorgeous papers from GCD Studios Ella Blue.  I used some Bronze pearlescent paper to create the image frame with an MS POTP double hearts.  The tassles were hand made, and the pearls from the Hobby House.  The flowers were originally all white from Wild Orchid and have been air brushed with BG01.
I took components from the easel to add to the return, the sentiments on the easel and return are from My Sentiments Exactly.  All the edges of the papers have been distressed and diamond stickles added, I also touched the flowers with this too.
This is the tiny Ashee cut away from his resting place
and here is the main image, both images have been coloured with copics and a white gel pen, the backgrounds have been airbrushed for the clouds.

Typing quicker now as running out of time

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

Party with A Dancing Queen at the Secret Crafter

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
I first would like to apologise for the serious lack of posting, work has been very hectic, I have although managed to just keep on top of my commenting, so as the Matt is working the weekend, and Mike will be busy keeping Hannah amused, that means that after a quick house tidy on Saturday I can play in my craft room, and on Sunday if I get some ironing done, I can play after that too, so looking forward to some me time :)

So today brings us to the next challenge at the

The very talented Francesca has chosen the theme this week of

Inspired By A Song
now don't forget to tell us which song

Now for me this did not take much time to go with the flow, and back to my normal, fussy style.  I chose

ABBA - Dancing Queen, as this image fits it so well, don't you think?

So here is my design team inspirational piece
I have created a very delicate easel card, complimented with some lovely olive green.  The base layer colour and contrast here is a baby pearlescent pink, the papers are Prima from the Hobby House. I have used a grand nestie smaller circle, along with one of the normal sized nesties for the image plate.  I have used an MS daisy punch supported by some tiny little green pearls again from the Hobby House. Marianne creatable swirls are added along with an array of flowers from various sources, local craft store, Wild Orchid and the Hobby House and a little bumble bee charm and that oh so pretty ribbon, again from the Hobby House.  The edges have all been distressed with scissors and the image plate and sentiment plate have been distressed with Olive Green Tim Holtz distress ink and then over stamped with a Prima clear polymer leaf stamp.  Think the sentiment is from Woodware.
I love the funky writing on the sentiment
The image has been coloured in copics and liquid pearls have been added for her necklace.

Please don't forget to hop over and check out the rest of the design teams creations, they are gorgeous

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 400 follower candy.   For those of you that have not yet entered the 400 follower candy you can do so here

I still cannot believe I am at 488 followers, you guys are all amazing thank you,  if you are already follow me please don't forget to put your name in the hat :)

As always and very importantly I would like to say thank you to all my wonderful visitors who take the time to leave such inspirational comments on my blog, allowing me to hop back over to see your own beautiful work. THANK YOU!!

entries to my challenges today are via the fabulous Feline site here is what I found, oh by the way keep an eye out for their hop, have you seen how many sponsors they have, AWESOME!!!!

Aud Sentiments - Sentiment for a Girl
Charisma Cardz - Inspired by a Song
Kelley Kids - Girlie Girl
Little Red Wagon - Die Cuts
My Mum's Craft Shop - Lots of Layers
Simon Says Stamp - Multifold Card
Your Next Stamp Challenge - Song Inspiration
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Creative Craft - Charming
Top Tip Tuesday - Easel Card
Tip: If over stamping first a clear stamp is easier and secondly don't forget to vary the depth of colour to make the middle feel further away, you can do this with first generation stamping (the first stamp off the block) second generation stamping (stamping the first stamp on rough paper and then on to the needed location) and even third generation.
House of Gilli - Easel Card with Flowers
Lia Stampz - Birthdays
I Did it Creations - Girlie Girl
Whiff of Joy - Pink and Pearls

Right think that is me, so off to have a quick furtle around the house, say hello to the dust and dog hairs with the hoover and have a quick wipe around in the kitchen, might put a wash load in now and again in between the crafting

Enjoy your weekend everyone
Hugs
Kate xx
