It's A Monochromatic Day at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Before I introduce you all to the next challenge a quick update,
the flying ants have gone thank heavens and I shall shortly be leaving for the wedding fully clothed, I don't take very good photo's so if your lucky I will try find one that looks good enough to post.

Matt thanks all of you for your kind birthday wishes and had a great day and caught 40 fish in total, what a fabulous birthday he had, followed by drinks with family and friends in the evening.

Later on today if I am still able to see the screen after the wedding, I will be drawing my candy, and posting the next delish candy, I can reveal that the candy matches quite nicely the theme of today's challenge, oh I do like to tease!!!!!!

So back to the matter at hand, the new challenge at the

It was my week to choose the theme so I chose

Monochromatic

I do so love doing this style of card, using my favourite colours

Here is my design team inspirational piece for you this week
This is an open sentiment card, good for lots of occasions using black and cream for the monotones. Hope you can just see the little shaped pearls peeking out from the black roses.
The base layer is black this also compliments the image plate.  The papers (and I must find some more) are my favourite linen and flocked papers by GCD Studios called Paris Nights.  The card is a normal 5 x 5 inch however the circle is the 2nd smallest grand circle nestie.  The sentiment I cannot remember sorry should really keep my packets.  The flowers are from the Hobby House and the punched leaves is one I got at the Doncaster Dome craft show.  The image is a Secret Crafter Manga Image, now I know that the site to buy these on is down at the moment however you can still buy these by contacting the shop and also they are now available at Grimsby Crafts in the clear polymer.  This one is called "Poor Boy"
He has been coloured in with copics, Neutral Greys, Toner Greys and Creams along with the flesh tones.

Now don't forget to hop over and see my team mates fabulous inspirational pieces.

As it is the last challenge of the month it is your last chance to enter into the draw to win 5 digis of your choice from our fabulous sponsor

I would like to thank all of my wonderful followers that take the time to leave such inspirational and kind comments :)

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

Fairies or Angels at the Winter Wonderland Challenge

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the beginning of the next challenge at the

But before I move on I just have to wish my dearest, beloved husband a
Happy Birthday
he is spending the day fishing and I do hope he catches loads, as he deserves a fabulous day.

Yesterday was a bit weird, a plague of flying ants covered the whole of Grimsby/Cleethorpes and poor Star had to come in, otherwise she would have laid on them, Mike could not cut the grass or paint the fence.  Our drive way at home was moving there were that many of them, at work, when we left the office we just got covered in them, I do hope that they fly away tomorrow.

Anyway back to today and the new challenge at

Team Kate is in the chair this week, with the very talented Sally setting the theme of

Fairies or Angel's
as your main image

We are sponsored by the fabulous Teri of Delicious Doodles

I decided to go with the Fairies side of the theme and have not used this image for sometime, I also have not paper pieced for a while either so with that said here is what I created for my Design Team Inspiration Piece.
An easel card with a gold mirror card base layer and compliment.  I used some Papermania Silent Night papers and the MS holly punch.  The base die shape is one of my new Go Kreate dies, with a Papermania sentiment.  The ribbon has been wrapped around and twirled under the new die.  I have added little gold snowflakes adding burgundy gems to the centres.
I have paper pieced the present and her little suit, using liquid appliqué for her fluffy bits and an actual ribbon around the present a pull type ribbon creating the depth from the card and glitter on her wings. A little different for me but I do like a change now and then.  Copics have been used for the rest of the colouring.

Now don't forget to hop on over to the challenge blog to see all my other teamies great inspirational pieces as well as our Designer in the Spotlight's work.

I would like to thank ALL of my wonderful followers who have taken the time to leave such fabulous comments through out the time my 200 follower candy has been running, and thank you all for entering the candy draw, I am amazed that 200 people have entered.  Today being the draw date, so you have a few more hours to enter your names in the pot if you have not done so already, click here to jump directly to it.

As you will all have noticed I have now passed the 300 candy mark as well, so I have already chosen the colour of the next candy and look at me being so organised I have bought it too, still need to photograph it, so thank you all for making this possible and good luck in the draw later on today. Maybe on the next candy I might be able to reach 300 entrants, who knows :)

Pretty Penny Black Birthday Card

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
Wow was it hot hot hot today at work - not that I am complaining, and hope that the weather stays like this till Saturday for the wedding.  Last night I finished a birthday card for a dear friend, she is simply mad about Daisy's, so when I went to the Doncaster Racecourse for the craft show I was thrilled to be able to buy three sets of clear stamps on their show offer.  So this is an image from one of those sets, which has the most amazing daisy on it.
I have made an easel card, the base layer is pale lime green and the papers were some freebies with a magazine - sorry do not know the name of them, but they are very delicate and soft.  The ribbon has been coloured with copic, the brad holds the ribbon together on the front of the easel and the large tied bow keeps the easel open.  Little pink pearls to match the brad have been run along the ribbon and a spray of flowers from Wild Orchid and other local shops has been added for that finishing touch.  The image plates have been decorated by distressing with spun sugar distress ink Tim Holtz and over stamping with a Prima leaf scroll.

I have followed the sketch at Mad for Markers

here is a close up of the image, I have used glossy accents to give the little ladybird a raised glassy body.

Here is the inner return image and sentiment
The Sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 200 follower candy.  I will be posting my 300 candy at the end of the current candy.  For those of you that have not yet entered the 200 follower candy you can do so here, thank you to Feline for now advertising my candy too.

Good evening to you all in the land of blog, Bridget here :)

21st August 1pm - 3.30pm

Today we learnt the following techniques
Feather Blending
Hair colouring
Pleats and Fold colouring
Back ground colouring

we also got to play with the glue and get just a little messy whilst using that gorgeous lace.  All of the products on the card are available and in stock at Grimsby Crafts.

So here is the card
it is an 8 x 8 inch card, using some lovely 12 x 12 olive papers and the Papermania Capsule Mono Collection purple papers.  The image has been framed with a grand nestie oval scallop and the image plate is the grand nestie oval.  The lace has been sandwiched between the layers of the full scallop oval, the image plate the gorgeous lace and the top double die cut scallop oval.  An MS punch has been used down the edge of the card and liquid pearls.  The ribbon a plain white ribbon has been coloured with a V04 copic pen to perfectly match the colours on the card. The sentiment scroll is another nestie and the flowers are from Grimsby Crafts, Hobby Craft and Wild Orchid.  The leaves are also from a nestie set.  The inner has been made to match.

Here are some close ups
The image was just perfect for the pleats and folds and the hair for the depth of colour.
The ribbon coloured to perfection
and the flowers
Such a pretty card for the class.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 200 follower candy.  I will be posting my 300 candy at the end of the current candy.  For those of you that have not yet entered the 200 follower candy you can do so here, thank you to Feline for now advertising my candy too.

Oh I am Sooooooooooooo Tickled Pink!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening to you in the land of blog
Today I got to have a little of a crafty day and managed to get some DT bits done as well as this lovely creation just for me................Just wanted to let those of you know who are interested that I will not be wearing my Bridget Jones knickers with the bolero and fascinator to the wedding next weekend as the dress arrived and after a run way show for Hannah in the bedroom, yes it will do very nicely.

So what have I created all for myself, well a short while ago very short, I was lucky enough to win a commentors  prize from Kellie at Tickled Pink Stamps
and I gave Kellie the choice of posting to me or a digi, Kellie very generously sent me two digis, oh lucky me..... so I now have a few to play with................ along with that I have recently learnt how to use multiple digis on one page of my image package, so just had to play.  So today I have made a card with Lil Birthday Kellita and Luca and both can be found here for the challenges at the Tickled Pink Sketch Challenge and Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge.  The sketch to follow is
and the theme for Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge is Spots and Dots

So here is my creation
Nothing exciting really just an extended card using a 12 x 12 base card cut down to 10.75 inches on one side, to allow the full around the page punching.
Base layer and contrast is black pearlescent, with Papermania Capsule Mono Collection papers from the Aqua range, which for some unknown reason has purple in it.  The flowers from my stash.  The ribbon is the metal ribbon that you can pull and shape as well as twist as I have done so here.  The lace from my stash.  The image plate sentiments computer generated and the little addition is My Sentiments Exactly.  The leaves are from a nestie pack.
A close up of the metal twisted ribbon and the lace.

The image plate has been distressed with Crushed Olive Tim Holtz and over stamped with a Prima clear stamp.  The image has been coloured in copics.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 200 follower candy.  I will be posting my 300 candy at the end of the current candy.  For those of you that have not yet entered the 200 follower candy you can do so here, thank you to Feline for now advertising my candy too.

Here is my design team inspirational piece
I have gone with a Birthday card and a very special one for a Sweet 16 year old this time and so girlie get me!!!
The base layer here is a pale pastel pink and the papers are a Prima pack from the Hobby House.  The flowers are a mixture from various places see where I shop above.  The doily has been added bare on this occasion.  I have used nestie tags to create a hinge effect on the sides of the card and used another nestie tag to create the little tag on the side, which has some ribbon added to it for extra detail.  Little butterflies have been added using liquid pearls for the bodies in a pale blue, with pearls in pink from the Hobby House and the image there is no mistaking Kenny K. Wouldn't you just die for a body like this!!!!

The Holly and The Ivy...................meets Winter Wonderland DT

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today it is Team Marianne's turn to host the challenge at

and it is Marianne herself hosting the challenge this week, with the fabulous theme of

The Holly and The Ivy
that is use either Holly or Ivy on your Christmas Creation

As always if you know me by now, I have to create a Christmas Card each week, so I always join in and point you in the right direction to aid you in working towards those all important Holiday cards

So here is my take on this weeks theme
Mandy at a Sprinkling of Glitter has really got me into using my round the edge punches by MS to better effect.  I have now worked out the exact size to be able to punch around both sides of the card and to fold it perfectly to match when it closes.  Thank you hun.  Also just a note for Mandy "the dress for the wedding still has not arrived, the knickers are looking more inviting!!!"
So the base layer is white card with the holly MS around the page punch.  On top of this is green mirror card and on top of this some fabulous holly paper.  The image has been framed with the green mirror card and so has the sentiment by the wonderful tag nestie.  The sentiment is Whiff Of Joy, the ribbon from stash about three years old.  The Robin image is also from last year and sorry cannot remember the make. But he has been coloured in copics.
I matched the inside to the front of the card and used a very appropriate Papermania Xmas sentiment to finish it off.
This is the little Robin.

Now I am going to let you into a secret so you can truly see the beauty of copics.  I coloured this bird and then tried a new technique on him, which did not go so well and caused the deep brown to bleed all over the image - disaster, however the blender pen is marvellous and over a period of two days on and off I patiently kept working the overspill until it had all gone. I am showing you the close up as I really really really need you to see the magic, go on zoom in, if you look really carefully you may just be able to see where I have cleared.

Anyway enough of copic magic and don't forget to hop on over to the Challenge blog to see Team Marianne's inspirational pieces.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 200 follower candy.  I will be posting my 300 candy at the end of the current candy.  For those of you that have not yet entered the 200 follower candy you can do so here, thank you to Feline for now advertising my candy too.

As always and very importantly I would like to say thank you to all my wonderful visitors who take the time to leave such inspirational comments on my blog, allowing me to hop back over to see your own beautiful work. THANK YOU!!

Stampin with the Dragon meets Bugaboo Stamps DT

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the next challenge at

But before I move on I would like to thank the lovely ladies at Do It With Digis for selecting one of my creations for a fabulous top three yesterday.

The theme this week is a
recipe of  3 pattern papers, 2 embellies and 1 border

Our fabulous sponsor is

who very generously allowed the Design Team to choose an image to play with and this is the gorgeous image I chose
I decided to make a wedding card with the SB Bride image. Here is the front on view.

I have used a base card of white card which has been around the page punched.  The next layer is a gold pearlescent paper, on top of this are some yummy wedding papers.  I have used three but that yummy ribbon that I won recently sort of hides it but then again the roses on the ribbon are sort of gorgeous.  I used an MS heart punch to wrap the ribbon around and the bow is a double bow using the bow maker.  I have added flowers from Wild Orchid and a lovely distressed doily, along with some liquid pearls in gold and a little white feather. The image plate has been distressed with Antique Linen distress ink and over stamped with a pretty swirl stamp. Sentiment is an old one and sorry cannot remember who by.  No new stash from the craft show on this one sorry.
Just had to show you the double bow in this delish ribbon and here is the image coloured in copics with the clear Spika Atyou pen over the top for the glistening.
Now don't forget to hop over and see the other delish creation by my Design Teamies.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and wish you all well in the 200 follower candy.  I will be posting my 300 candy at the end of the current candy.  For those of you that have not yet entered the 200 follower candy you can do so here, thank you to Feline for now advertising my candy too.
