Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today I get to show you a card I was asked to make by one of my copic ladies, Carol. She had the image but really did not know what to do with it. On looking at the image it is lovely and you would wonder why it would be so hard to use, however on stamping it up I could clearly see the issue. The image is not a single line drawn image, so there are several outer lines, making it really difficult to actually colour it in. I stamped it four times the first one was my practice piece and the others I decided to decoupage.
See what you think, I hope she likes it.
I have used gold mirror card and brown card as my base and contrast and some of the gorgeous feel vintage papers from the GCD Studio's Paris Nights stack, this is an 8 x 8 inch card to fit the size of the image and an appropriate sentiment.
I added some delicate lace flowers and wired gold ribbon from Grimsby Crafts, along with this lovely sentiment that I thought worked so well with the image.
here are some close ups
The sentiment
The image in two views showing the front and side so that the decoupage can be seen
The image plate has been distressed as has the sentiment with TH old paper, the image has been coloured with copics. Using a Toner Grey 3 on top of the deepest red to create the shade on the bottle cap and the red win. A white highlighter with a small amount of glitter to highlight the markings on the glass.
I also added but not sure you can see it glossy accents on the red wine.
The image is from Stamps Happen and is called Red Wine Cellar
If you look closely you will see the multiple line edging.
Now when I took this photograph and looked at it on the screen to crop it, I thought how lovely the side vase looked with it's black and orange feathers and fronds and my little silk flowers, so I thought I would give you an insight into my photograph area :)
I would like to say hello to my new followers, and as always I would like to thank all of my wonderful visitors and followers for the lovely and inspirational comments you leave, which allows me to hop on over in return to see your own lovely work.

Hi Kate
Beautiful card! It almost teletransports you to Paris. I could just see myself sitting outside the Eiffel Tower sipping a drink if I could. Love the way you rescued the image from having its dilemmas and brought it to life with decoupage.
