Christmas Cards and Copics

Hello again, oooooooooooooh 8 more days............

Well a few final cards, next year (don't laugh) I intend to make a xmas card a week, so that I am well over my quota.

These cards are made using the basic grey papers from my new pad along with the lovely leather effect red paper I got from the Hobby House, along with the pearls.  Flowers from Hobby Craft and Trotters, ribbon from stash and I know don't laugh a little stick on for the sentiment (a speed thing). Glitter AtYou Pen clear used for that subtle glitter effect on the image.

Another, brad from the Hobby House and a little liquid applique.

Well going to wrap my final presents, and the secret santa present for my works day out.  Going out this afternoon to catch up with a few close friends, can't wait.

Thanks for taking the time to view my posts and for your very kind comments.

Christmas Cards and Copics

Hello there

Finally I can blog some cards I made a while ago, but the purchaser had not given them to the person who was receiving them, so I was unable to blog them.  It was a family of three so made three matching but different and individual cards and I also made a lovely card for another friend yesterday, but needed to wait to photograph as the light at this time of the year causes so much shadow on our images.

Anyway hope your all organised for the big day and getting excited....................... I know I am but I do enjoy the excitement of xmas and giving presents and cooking for the family.

Anyway enough of that................ here is a card that I am entering in the
Creative Card Crew Challenge - with the theme of "Anything Goes"
and the Just Magnolia Challenge - Anything Christmassy

Just love these "Basic Grey" papers and decided to change my normal layout to something different.  I joined to cards together, diagonally cut them down the front.  Layered up the card using a lovely leather effect paper as the base, used this lovely image from magnolia, coloured her with copic and added just a little liquid applique.  The lace covers both the edges of the diaganol back and front on both sides.  Added little pearls on either side and used liquid pearls for the centre of each of the pale snowflakes.  MSE for the sentiment stamped on cream card and edges distressed.  Ribbon carefully placed around the whole card. Burgundy and white roses to compliment with a little gold/clear button (hobbyhouse) and some pine branches to set it all off.  I added a small touch of red stickles to the edges of the petals on the burgundy roses.

Here are some close ups
The image using copics

The left floral embelishments

The inside - the insert which lifts out without undoing the bow.

Now some images of the set of three cards I made for the family of three
I used my justrite stamps for these for the extra special sentiments.

These I am entering into the La-La Land Crafts Challenge 16  -  Pink and Green

For the parents

Take care all and thank you for looking and all your kind comments

Whiff of Joy, Glitter and Frost Xmas with Copics

Hello everyone

Do you remember when you bought the last piece of paper that you really thought you needed to buy and then could not bare to cut it. Well this blue twinkly, sparkly, glittery, frosty, xmasy paper is that piece. I think it is a K & Co, 12 x 12. It just says very special xmas without anything else on it. But I did have to put bits on it and I tried very hard not to cover too much of the good bits. I used the cuttle bug to create the frame ability and then glittered it up in some stickles blue, I cut out my snowflakes with the cuttle bug and added glitter to one, and polar white flowersoft to the other two. I coloured both of the brad pearls with the copics to change the colour to suit the card, and added the lovely ribbon and stamped sentiment.

Here it is, I am entering this card into the following challenges

Stamp Something - Winter Wonderland Something

Totally Gorjuss - Free and Easy

Whiff Of Joy - Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle

A few close ups the snowflakes

And the all important image showing the copic ability.

Well tonight is the night, going to prepare the tea and then settle down for the last but one "Strictly" and the final of "X Factor"

Take care all and thank you for looking and your very kind comments.

Anniversary Card and Flowers

Hello everyone hope your all feeling the xmas spirit ( I know I was last night - and boy I can tell I am not as young as I use to be)

Well moving on swiftly from that, today, I did a little bit more xmas food shopping and can safely say wont manage much more as the overflow freezer is fit to bust (as will I be with all that food)

I wrapped up the anniversary card (cheated on the birthday ones - used ones I had already made). Cheated again on the anniversary card - used peel offs - oh I know don't shout but I did colour them with copics. I coloured the little pearls with the copics too. So with out too much more of all that, here it is

I am totally loving my flower arranging at the moment - if you have not already guessed. If you did not know, about 20 years ago I completed a receptionist course at college straight from school, one of the classes was flower arranging. I can't believe I am revisiting it all again.

A close up of the flowers

Well must rush going to see who got knocked out of Strictly (sad I know)

take care all and thank you all for your very kind comments on my Shabby Challenge

Lets Get Shabby Challenge 6 - Xmas Inspired Project

Hello one and all and a Merry Xmas to you all.

Sorry I have not posted for a few days but I have been decorating the house and home for our special month in between finishing my Lets Get Shabby Item.

It is the first time I have entered this challenge, however over a the past year the lovely Sue has been inspiring me in so many ways with all her lovely techniques. So think of this as a compilation of those and I hope it makes Sue (Paper Paradise) proud.

Challenge 6 - Lets Get Shabby

So get yourself a tipple as you might need one. This is my creation

Here is the overall image, this is a lovely little box which was just cardboard from Boy's. I needed a box to place two very tiny charms in for a very special lady, I think that this just fits the bill and I am so chuffed with myself, even if it did take almost a week to complete. But these things cannot be rushed.

The top of the little box and the lovely flowers, weathered with vintage photo (Tim Holtz) distress ink. The centre of the flower I added some little gold balls - not sure what there called. Little branches poking through and some more of the lace folded double and wrapped with wire to enable this to be glued in place.

A close up of the addition of small tailoring pins with added beads and bits and the lace.

A top shot for the different angle. Ok got carried away with the new camera.

Several photos of the sides (all six of them different) all distressed with vintage photo and chalked with a shimmer gold. This one showing the snowflake image, with punched snowflakes layered.

This one showing the cut out heart frame, edged in liquid pearls and the image (all images are from a pad of crafty sentiment images - love them, don't you. By the way their on line store is now open.

This one is another image picking up the addition of the rose from the image and the baubles replaced with pearls.

Another image this time with a wreath, adding tiny red pearls for the berries and the bow for the ribbon at the top.

Loved this little image, a while back I picked up these vintage metal corner pieces (not sure where from) so added one to the bottom and then decided to punch out my little butterfly and cut it's wings in half and place half the wing on the remaining exposed angel wing.

This one came from the cuttings left over from the heart frame, I took a rose and coloured with with my copics as it was originally pale pink. I then glittered it up and distressed it.

Well that seemed to take longer than creating it. Well I am going now to start back on creating an anniversary card for a family member and two birthday cards all for Saturday this week. On catch up................

Well take care all and hope the spirit of xmas is with you all. Thank you for looking and your lovely comments.
