Black and White with the Joanna Sheen Design Team

Good morning to you all in the land of blog

Today sees the next challenge at the

The theme is

Black and White

before I move on I have some sad news, today is my last Design Team post for Joanna Sheen.  I am needing to take a step back a bit on my DT work, whilst my routine levels again.  But I would like to thank Paula and Jane and the awesome Sheenie Towers for allowing me to be part of one fabulous challenge team, I enjoyed every moment and you can be sure I will when I get back to normal, be entering their fabulous challenges,

so here is what I created for my design team inspirational piece but do hop over and see all the rest of the wonderful creations on the main challenge blog
As you will all know by now CAS is not my thing, however felt that  this image from this pack just shouted out for CAS.  You see when you look at the close up the butterfly has musical notes on it and to colour it up would hide it's beauty.  So I added a sentiment, and some velvet lace sticky edging which really presents the image well and does not take the focus away from the image

here is a close up of the image

New Beginnings with the Joanna Sheen Design Team

Good morning to you all in the land of blog

Today is the first challenge of 2013 at the

The theme is

New Beginnings

So here is what I created for my design team inspirational piece but do hop over and see all the rest of the wonderful creations on the main challenge blog
I made what I think you call a light box card, you see I received to use for my creation the wonderful
Josephine Wall Project Book and CD, it has some gorgeous images in it, which I printed out onto glossy photo paper and some equally stunning papers. It is a creation to celebrate a New Home.

I chose this wonderful tree, image as it reminded me of a tree house :) well a magical one at that.  I used some of the matching papers but also some of the others on the CD, they are all so dreamy.
I used black as my contrast colour and adorned with airbrushed WOC flowers, some punched leaves some pearls, tiny bling and a charm.  The sentiments are computer created and die cut using the nestie banner/ribbons, these have also been airbrushed to match.

Here are some close ups
The flowers with the little key charm, this was in my Christmas package from the very talented and generous Paula, thank you hun, it looks just perfect.

The decoupaged image, with added glitter on the water fall.

Now due to my new year resolution, each creation I make must have a box, so here that is, using those lovely papers.

I have used many of the gorgeous little images on the

House-Mouse Designs Christmas Rubber Stamps - Keyboard JSHM038

House-Mouse Designs Christmas Rubber Stamps - Sleigh Mice JSHM040

but there are others you could use

here are some close ups of those little meecey's

How did I make this one
one 12 x 12 piece of card any colour and rolled and secured in a cone shape, trimming the bottom level
Several colours of florist ribbon, cut into 5 inch lengths
One Ribbon curling thingy, the one with the shredding teeth
Shred each strip, fold in half and attach going around in colours till at the top.  I used an elastic band to hold the ribbon whilst each layer dried.
Once dry, cut all the hoops and fluff up the ends
Add a star, mine is four star die cuts, scored at the half way point and all glued together for the all around look.
and of course lots of image of your little mice
mine are coloured in copics, with added glitter and Atyou.
hope you give it a go, mine looks great on my fire surround.
