Lighting the Way for the Winter Wonderland Challenge DT

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the next challenge at the

with the theme this week being hosted by the very talented Linda, the theme is

Anything But a Card

We are sponsored this challenge by the fabulous
who are offering the winner a gift voucher of £10

So here is what I created for my design team inspirational piece but don't forget to hop on over to the main challenge site to see the rest of the design teams gorgeous creations.

Now I do have to warn you that this is photo heavy and you may need some refreshment before you start.
Settled?????
 right here we go
I made a lantern with acetate sides sounds quite simple doesn't it, it was honestly.  You see I recycled a box that I got a lovely Christmas gift in last year.  I took off all the bits and bobs, removed the original ribbon hanger, cleaned off all the labels from the acetate and cleaned the inside. All before I could then decorate it.

I added some gorgeous Xmas papers to the top and sides.  I stamped out several images and coloured, glittered these. I used my new Cheery Lynn Holly die scroll/flourish, some lovely cherry red tiny pearls and a white gel pen sakuro pen to create the snow effect on the acetate.  I cut a piece of ribbon knotted it and threaded it through the newly punched hole in the top.

So now you know how easy it was, have a look at the other images

Snowman Hugs by Wild Rose Studio's

Good morning to you all again, hope that this finds you well and if you are feeling a little under the weather due to illness or the horrid cold that you pick up again soon :)
Two days in on the back to work thing and not too bad, but then I have Friday off due to working last Friday so a four day week sounds so much better especially when you have special plans for Friday :)

This is something that I created over the weekend and could not resist using this fabulous image call
by Wild Rose Studio
part of the recent new releases for Traditional Xmas

So here is what I did with it

The base layer and contrast is the silver mirror card, and I added layers of my new Marianne dies and a few pearls on top of some old MME papers and just a sprinkling of pearls from the Hobby House.  All topped off with some TH distress ink, love how it shows up the detail on the die cut.

here is a close up of the image
coloured in copics with a little Atyou clear glitter on the snowman and a touch of the Atyou red, blue and orange to create extra depth of colour and more sparkle, which you can never see on the photo's.

Teddy Giving by Wild Rose Studio

Good morning to you all again, and hope that this finds you all well.
I created this little number on my last day off from work :(  yep that means that I am back at work again well until nearly Xmas that is. This morning the sun is out but that nip is in the air, will I think need to hop and put on a jumper.

I made an error the other day as I stated that the image I had used was Teddy Giving when in fact it was Teddy with Gift, so this one is Teddy Giving and I apologise for the mis information. Although both are super images.

So here is the correct Image for Teddy Giving by Wild Rose Studio
I used some of the wonderful papers from the older range at WRS called

The base layer and contrast is the gold mirror card, and I added some Marianne dies, a Nellie Snellen behind the sentiment and a very old poinsettia with a few branches.
The image of course Wild Rose Studio - Teddy Giving
Sentiment from Wild Rose Studio from the Christmas Circles pack

here is a close up of the image
coloured in copics with some Atyou on the ribbons and tinsel, along with some more glossy accents on those baubles, do love the look this gives them.

Hey Pumpkin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GBT Raise the Bar

Good morning to you all
Today I get to show you something that I really enjoyed creating for not just one reason but two

This creation was made in the main with lovely goodies received from the awesomely talented and super generous America and secondly I was asked if I would be a Guest Bar-Tender at

where their theme is

Hey Pumpkin
Use any pumpkin image to play along

So here is my GBT creation
I made an easel card, where that new nestie die towers above.
So here are the items used from America
Image
lime green mirror paper
all of the designer papers
and items from my own stash
Ribbon, charm, electrical shield, nestie dies and sentiment

Here are some close ups
The electrical shield tape was coloured in black and stretched to make a big web.  The silver pumpkin charm was coloured in lime green to match the base colour papers.  Those sparkly fabulous pumpkin papers all topped off with a lovely HM sentiment on a TH distressed die, but lets not forget that ribbon :)

The image is coloured in copics and has an AI cob web stamp surround the image just on top of the TH distressing.  The Atyou glitter pens have been used to add extra sparkle to the pumpkin and the stalks and although in real life looks so sparkly my photo's just don't do it justice.

I would like to thank Joni for asking me to create for them this week and do hope you will all hop over and join in the challenge

Vintage Red Wine for a very special lady

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today I get to show you a card I was asked to make by one of my copic ladies, Carol.  She had the image but really did not know what to do with it.  On looking at the image it is lovely and you would wonder why it would be so hard to use, however on stamping it up I could clearly see the issue.  The image is not a single line drawn image, so there are several outer lines, making it really difficult to actually colour it in.  I stamped it four times the first one was my practice piece and the others I decided to decoupage.

See what you think, I hope she likes it.
I have used gold mirror card and brown card as my base and contrast and some of the gorgeous feel vintage papers from the GCD Studio's Paris Nights stack, this is an 8 x 8 inch card to fit the size of the image and an appropriate sentiment.
I added some delicate lace flowers and wired gold ribbon from Grimsby Crafts, along with this lovely sentiment that I thought worked so well with the image.

here are some close ups
The sentiment

The image in two views showing the front and side so that  the decoupage can be seen
The image plate has been distressed as has the sentiment with TH old paper, the image has been coloured with copics.  Using a Toner Grey 3 on top of the deepest red to create the shade on the bottle cap and the red win.  A white highlighter with a small amount of glitter to highlight the markings on the glass.

I also added but not sure you can see it glossy accents on the red wine.

The image is from Stamps Happen and is called Red Wine Cellar
If you look closely you will see the multiple line edging.

Now when I took this photograph and looked at it on the screen to crop it, I thought how lovely the side vase looked with it's black and orange feathers and fronds and my little silk flowers, so I thought I would give you an insight into my photograph area :)

Teddy with Gift by Wild Rose Studio

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today being my third day off, I dropped Mike at work this morning and am now waiting for the gearbox delivery so I can go pick it up, to fix Mike's car, well I am not fixing it, I am picking him up after work and he is.  So the Taxi service will then completed :)

anyway  I am showing you another of the new releases by Wild Rose Studio from the Traditional Xmas recent release, this one is called Teddy with Gift
This time I went with some more traditional colours and papers.  Using a gold mirror card as the base and contrast along with some very old green papers and some wordy papers in red from Bearly Mine.  The lace was in a sweet treat from my wonderful Teamy at HM America, the sentiment is from Wild Rose Studio and the ribbon, trees and green bling from my stash.

The close ups the image coloured in copics, with stickles for his fluffy bits and not sure if you can see but glossy accents on the baubles and Atyou Glitter pens for the tinsel.
