White and One Other Colour for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Now you would have thought that as I had most of last week off, that I would have posted more than I have, unfortunately I spent my week catching up on the housework and making boxes for cards :) you see I love making the cards but never actually get around to the boxes for them, so spent a good two days making boxes....................."mental note to my altered ego 'Bridget'.......must make the boxes as I go from now on.

Although with this horrid cough making boxes was the easier option, must also avoid standing near people that are coughing horridly, to avoid catching nasty bug yuk!!!!!

On another point hasn't blogger been a nightmare for commenting this week, wish he would sort his act out.

So with that off my chest (sorry could not miss that one out), not that it is a big chest at all would not want to give you that impression..... we move on swiftly to the next challenge at the

with the fabulous theme chosen by the very talented Wendy aka the boss of

White and One Other Colour

Pop over and see who has joined us in the Design Team and go show them some love :) along with checking out the rest of the design teams inspiration, which is as always fabulous

So trying to avoid the waffling, here is my design team inspirational piece for this week
I made a friendship card with my favourite little critters.
The base colour and contrast is white, with some of those gorgeous Papermania Mono papers from the Heather range I believe (have so many of them I do forget)
The image is of course House Mouse and the layers have all been distressed and glittered up, a girl can never have enough glitter.  Marianne Dies used for foliage with the Wild Orchid flowers which have been distressed as has the image plate with Tim Holtz mulled lavender and some fabulous diamond stickles. The sentiment is a matching pair from My Sentiments Exactly.

Here is a quick close up of the image, just what a friend is for don't you think?
Don't you just love those gorgeous Violet copic colours.

Die Cut Dreams GDT

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today I am thrilled to be able to tell you that I am a Guest Designer for the challenge at

with the theme of

A Poem as the main focus

Now I am usually an image sort of girl so this was a real challenge for me, but it is great to work outside of your box so to speak.  So here is what I created for my inspirational piece.
It is an easel card.  The easel itself has covered with a POTP square.  The base colour and contrast is a deep burgundy pearlescent card.  The papers are from a Papermania stack of mono papers.  The poem located on the good old world wide web and the inner sentiment is from My Sentiments exactly.  The ribbon from my stash, wrapped around the base of the easel and a double bow added over the top.  Another POTP square holds the sentiment.  Little pearls added to the centre of the daisies and an array of flowers from Wild Orchid and some from stash.  I used the stem's from the flowers to twirl around my tent peg and added some large pearls to the return.  The edges of the poem and sentiment have been airbrushed with W7 and if you can just see it I have used a stencil to create the little rose using a R59 for the rose and the W7 for the stem and leaves.  The whole creation has been over sprayed with crafter's companion glitter lacquer.

Please do pop over to the challenge blog to see the Design Team's wonderful creations

I would also like to say thank you to the ladies at the Allsorts Challenge blog for selecting me as one of their top 5 this week.

Anything Goes with Sparkle at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Today sees the next challenge at the

and the first of my holiday days from work, whoop whoop !!!!!
so onto the theme this week set by the very talented Tracie of

Anything Goes with Sparkle

Thought  I would try to avoid the glitter on this one, so found some gorgeous sparkly papers, however I sort of put so much on the card that you could not see it hehehehehe :) so had to add extra glitter to the image.
awwwwwwwwwwww okay I know it is pink!!!! but thought it went so well with the burgundy.  These papers are the Me 2 You, small stack available at Grimsby Crafts, the image is Nellie Snellen also available at Grimsby Crafts.  The base layer and contrast is a silver mirror card.  I have added cheesecloth behind to soften the card and the large burgundy ribbon was crying out to be made into a bow to sit beautifully on the corner.  I added flowers distressed with spun sugar and icicles stickles, the flowers are from Wild orchid, the pearls from the Hobby House and the little snowflakes for the extra added touch.  The sentiment is from the six pack of round sentiments from Wild Rose (and yes Janet love the Wild Rose papers and obviously these stamps)

I added glitter around the image plate and sentiment as well as some on the image, here is a close up of the double burgundy bow, scrumptious. You can just see how I have over stamped the sentiment with a snowflake in the spun sugar distress ink.

Here is a close up of the image
coloured with copics with added stickles for snowflakes and liquid appliqué for falling snow.

Please don't forget to hop over and see all the other gorgeous creations by my teamies, all created especially for your inspiration.

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

This is my little snowy, a new edition to my Penny Black stamps and a very welcome one.  I have created another extended card to allow for the POTP MS holly which is the base colour of deep brown.  This is also the contrast colour for these gorgeous Papermania Mono oranges. The sentiment is from a set of Wild Rose clear stamps available at Grimsby Crafts.  Behind the sentiment is a die cut nestie snowflake in white.  The pearls have again been airbrushed as has the sheer ribbon using an orange copic.  Little snowy has also been coloured with copics.  Isn't he adorable.

So here is what I created with this fabulous image
A spooky/eery Halloween card. Here is a close up of the sentiment and the black wire mesh ribbon, which has been stretched.
and here is the image, the background has been airbrushed in purple tones, copics have been used to colour the fabulous image and I added a little clear glitter sakuro pen to the spooky tree.

A Right Fishy Birthday Card

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
Last night I finally managed to finish yet another male birthday card for another member of the family that just happens to like fishing

and on that note I just have to say how thrilled I was to be one of the lucky winners from Marianne's mega candy, which arrived on my door step today

thank you Marianne xx

So here is the first fishing male card I have created, I am still colouring the other up
This is an 8 x 8 mega card, using the next to largest oval and scallop oval grand nesties.
The base colour and contrast colour is a pearlescent green. The papers from the same Making Cards magazine.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I added a ribbon down the centre with a double bow at the top and a little fish charm.  The tiny pearls are brown and from the Hobby House.

Wedding Creation with Sugar Nellie

Hello all in the land of blog
This card was a request from Hannah, for another one of her friends who is getting married.  She is not overly girlie so tried to stay clear of the girlie colours but you know me with the embellies, could not help myself :)

I decorated the inner and the back of the front on this one, like I normally do for special cards.
The base colour and contrast is a cream pearlescent paper, with Wild Rose Wedding papers on top.  Two smaller panels at the top and one larger one at the bottom with the ribbon running behind the image to tie at the side and scroll down the side of the card.  The grand nestie circle and scallop was used the smaller of the set.  Small pearls and large pearls from the Hobby House and flowers from Wild Orchid and my stash.  Flowers distressed with Tim Holtz antique linen and stormy sky and image plate air brushed on the outer edge with E53 and around the image with B01.  The image plate was rolled in glue and then in the fine antistatic glitter and ice stickles was added to the flowers.  The sentiment on the front is from My Sentiments exactly.

The tied bow and scrolled ribbon from the Hobby House, I adore this ribbon, must go get myself some more :)
Those lovely roses from Wild Orchid
The fabulous Sugar Nellie image coloured in copics with some flower soft for her bouquet and head dress.

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

21st Boys Birthday Card

Good evening to you all in the land of blog
I was asked at short notice if I could create a 21st Birthday card for a male.  Oh my!!!! not my usual thing as you know it is so hard to create a card that does not contain flowers lol xx

So a while back I had purchased a Making Cards magazine for the male papers, so I had a quick flick through this got an idea and quickly produced this little number, thank  you to the ladies at Making Cards for their inspiration.
I love the colour scheme, just perfect I thought.
The image and the papers were out of the magazine, the Happy Birthday wording is black peel off's (oh I know, but I sometimes think they are so useful) The Red Letters are from my 12 x 12 alph/numberic sheet coloured with R39 and the little starts are actually bling stars, placed on upside down to match the silver mirror card base colour. Not bad for a 20 minute card.  My son says it is great and the person will love it.  Phew one male card down and two to go.

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges
Crafty Card Makers - Anything Goes
The Crafty Pad - One for the Boys
Penny's Paper Crafting - Anything Goes

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge prepares for Halloween

Good morning to you all in the land of blog
Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of posts and creations from myself recently, the new job role, is very demanding and it is taking me a little while to get into the swing of it, but I am relishing the challenge.

With that in mind, the new challenge at the

is on, and I chose the theme this week, which is

Halloween

Here is what I created for my inspirational piece
Now the inspiration for this card totally revolved around the fabulous Tickled Pink Digital Image called " Lil Haunts Vampire Lilith" and wow is she fabulous to colour.
The base colour and contrast on this card is black pearlescent.  The papers are freebies from assorted places around the world wide web, sorry forgot to take the page details for you all and thank you to those that created them.  I used my MS corner punch on each of the corners and the edge punch along the edge of the green panel.  The Oval die and Oval Scallop die are the smaller ones from the Grand Nesties.  The flowers are from a variety of places some Prima, Wild Orchid and a local department store.  The pearls were air brushed with copics to match.  The flowers have a little platinum stickles on them and the cheesecloth on the left has been airbrushed with the lime green and the wire ribbon has been airbrushed in the orange, thought both gave a web feel to the creation. The sentiment I created myself using my photo package and the amazing brush sets within it.
The flowers pick up the colours used on the card
A silver pumpkin charm has been coloured in purple copics
This is the close up of the wire ribbon airbrushed and shaped to look like a web.
The image has been coloured in copics with a little airbrushing for the background and the over stamping to make her look as if she is in a creepy place.  A white gel pen has been used to add extra highlights.

I love this creation and although I don't normally do Halloween, will most definitely be creating with her again.

I would like to welcome all my new followers and thank you along with all my regulars for all your lovely comments, which makes blog land such a lovely place.

I will be back later on today with the winner of my candy, and yes I know I must go shopping, as so many people have noticed that I went over the 500 mark which means "more candy to follow"

Today I would like to say thank you to
for choosing me as a grand prize winner on their recent fabulous blog hop

and

thank you to Sheri's Crafts for my recent award

and now courtesy of Feline, and their fabulous work on our behalf, I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

hope you all have a fabulous day and weekend
